Tadpole - an energy saving device???

Options
Any one seen or used one of these?

Seems to attach to your heating system and they are quoting some decent fuel saving possibilities. Obviously it could all be rubbish, I have googled around and haven't found much.

What do people think?

Billion to one its a scam. Kind of like those ludicrous magnetic clips you're supposed to put on your car's fuel line to get better performance and/or economy.

Removing air from water reduces your heating costs by 29%.

    Are people really that gullible?

Yes, I think they cause the atoms to stratify and the mollycules(sic) to line up so they burn slower.

Works with oil, gas, LPG, increases MPG for cars(petrol & diesel) and should have come on the market last Monday!

It looks like a very expensive spirovent - ha

All it is is a deaeriator which theoretically removes microbubbles from the central heating system. One would assume that once the system has been running for sometime, there wouldn't be any air left to form microbubbles. I'm not convinced that they'll save much and for £250 for the Tadpole (plus fitting) you'd need to save a hell of a lot before you break even.

The Spirovent is a lot cheaper at about £100 and takes up a lot less space
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

There no need to fit on as most heating pumps have an auto air vent fitted on them.
