I've just had my first debt collector letter from 'Financial Enforcement Company'. Charge is now up to £160. As per the advice of the newbie sticky I am going to ignore this letter. How many letters do they usually send before escalating to court. How is the LBC letter distinguished exactly?

You looked them up I assume?

Started a whole year ago (big wow) by Anthony and Paulette Roberts.

As posted by Umkomaas, this is letter heading used by the same people as the parking firm. A shoddy attempt at getting money out of people:

Seem to be misrepresenting things a tad.

    Look who are FEC directors:

Look who are New Generation Parking directors:

All part of the smoke and mirrors game played out by this truly awful skimdustry.

Addresses in Regent Street and Canary Wharf - my @rse!

But keep all the letters because sending you misleading communications like that would assist your defence when you beat them in court, if they try. Nothing to worry about, collect all the letters and only take seriously a LBCCC from a solicitor or the parking firm themselves, not this bunch of debt collector/enforcement imitators run by the same company but merely set to mislead people.

Ok guys, new letter received from Financial Enforcement Company...

Letter dated yesterday 02/06. In the top right it says 'Letter before further action - do not ignore'

It goes on to say that they have written to me previously and not heard from me. If I do not pay the debt within 14 days from the date of the letter then the case will be passed to their clients solicitors with their recommendation that legal proceedings are commenced in county court with a view to obtaining a CCJ. It then goes on to list the consequences of having a CCJ.

Am I right in thinking this is not a letter before court and is just another scare tactic?

Financial Enforcement Company come across as complete idiots.
These powerless muppets can only pass it back to the PPC.
They cannot recommend "with a view of obtaining a CCJ"

That is total and utter rubbish, stupid people, it has not even been to court.

It's muppets like Financial Enforcement Company who give the
debt collection industry a bad name

    CARRY ON IGNORING

I don't like that letter. It doesn't sound as if it's soft, strong or very, very long.

Hey guys, bit of an update...

I've had my first letter from Wright Hassall. In short they are demanding I pay within 14 days or they will recommend their client, ZZPS, take me to court.

I am going to continue following the advice of ignoring this letter chain until the LBC but my partner is now starting to get a little bit more nervous. Reason being we are going to be applying for a mortgage in a couple of months time and she is nervous if this gets to court it could affect us. Silly question of the day... if this does go to court, and I lose, am I then given a CCJ?

    Cheers
