Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.

Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x"

Good Luck Everyone

Well my budget for the week is £70

    £30 groceries

    £20 spends

Not going to allocate my spending to days of the week, I'm just going to see what happens. No real plans for the week apart from antenatal class on Friday.

Thanks for the new thread ETO :A

I'm hoping to have a low spend week until Saturday....then I've got a girl's day out with friends - one coming over from Oz and one up to Scotland from B'Ham. I'm hoping to spend no more than £100 by next Sunday....looks like a lot but I've had the money put aside for the weekend since the start of the month.

Fingers crossed I stay in budget - another 10 days till payday

    Good morning!

Thanks ETO for starting us off again this week.

My spends for last week were:

    Sun ~ NSD
    Mon ~ £3.56
    Tue ~ NSD
    Wed ~ £2.67
    Thu ~ NSD
    Fri ~ NSD
    Sat ~ £1.92

    That's a spend of £8.15
    That's a bit close lol!

This week I'd like to allocate £45.00 as my weekend away is on again as my shifts over the weekend were cancelled. That includes the £19.00 for my coach ticket and spending money for the weekend.

Hope you all have a great week! Today will definitely be a NSD for me!

    Cheers

  • Thanks again for the thread ETO!

Trying to claw back last week's over budget spend so this week i'm pledging £30, which is for groceries and spends.

Today is a definite NSD, not leaving my door what with the Grand Prix coming on later.

Good luck for the week everyone :)

I'm also watching the GP but it's the online spends that tempt me lol! I'm hoping for a NSD too! Just got to stay away from the online shopping! I seem to have no willpower when it comes to buying DVDs online!
