I just find much on tv not entertaining much these days even on terrestrial

It's not just me then . I thought it was age, but I often watch the first quarter of an hour of a programme then lose interest. The only ones I really watch are Casualty, Holby City, Call the Midwife, dramas like the Broadchurch series and occasional documentaries.

No, me too. I don't watch live TV, only live sport. The rest (which isn't much) I record.

I have youview with hd addon. To be honest its not bad value as you get the pvr as well. I really only use it for watching Discovery and Natgeo. I dont find even on them channels much to watch and we get a awful lot of repeats. When my contract expires in July I dont think I will renewal it (18 month contract)

You should not have to renew the contract. At the end of the contract it should change to a 1 month rolling contract.

Just dump the tv service and change to Freeview for those programs you might want to watch.

A very good friend of mine got rid of his tv years ago and listens to the radio. My problem with radio and even audiobooks is that my mind wanders. I need that visual attention-getter. So television and paper or digital books.
