    Good afternoon

Jakes-mum, I hope Jake is recovering well from his accident :)

I can't believe it is only 3 weeks until we can open our pots. This year has gone by whilst I've not been looking

Still potting away, and looking forward to the 3rd. I am going on holiday next weekend, and there will only be 4 days to wait after I come home :j :j :j :j :j :j :j Can't wait.

    I hope everyone is well

£5.20 potted this weekend, including another 20p roadkill picked up at Ashton Gate on Friday night.
Lynsey, you may not have won the Lotto but I did! The princely sum of £2.30, from a ticket that cost £2.50!
    Keep going everyone, nearly there

I missed this until now, but am happily looking forward to the 4th November. I do randomly save my change before dipping into it for bus fares etc. but having just had a count it's only £5.53. I do wonder how much it will grow to if I stop dipping into it!

I have just come back from a mini holiday and have so much loose change that it broke my wallet! Managed to fix it, and look forward to adding the coins to the pot. My OH owes me 1p because I gave him 8 quid for a 7.99 meal and yes, I do want that penny and I will demand it gets put in the pot. Every little helps.

Make your pot sealed so you cant dip into it...

Some others have a holding pot, where they put their change and whatever is left in the holding pot at the end of the week is then potted into the sealed pot...

That way you can take your bus fare, car parking money out of the holding pot, and may reduce how much you take out, when you see it getting smaller, if that makes sense.

I know some people use a mug and all the pennies go in there first, so you can visualise the amount you are potting, it may help you to stop taking out.

**If its properly sealed this should be quite hard

Hiya Scottish :hello: Are you joining the challenge ??

It's never too late and you can either add up what you have on the 3rd November and start again or just carry it over for the next year - which starts on the 4th November :rotfl:

Just post again, saying if you want to join in, and then Sue, our illustrious leader will add you and give you a number. Hope to 'see' you again soon

Oooohh, sooooo excited for pot opening day :j:j:j.
Last Tuesday I received my first polymer £5 note.It was part of the payment from an elderly customer of mine.I told him I didn't have the heart to spend it,partly because it was my first polymer £5note,also because it was from him, bless him.(Cant honestly say it was my first EVER polymer note-Australia introduced polymer notes in 1988 for our bicentenary-recent history lesson for you right there, folks).

The second polymer note I received, later the same day,I decided I couldn't spend because it was in such pristine condition icon_rolleyes.gif.
So then I thought,I wonder if I could pot every five pound note I receive between now and pot-opening day (apart from those two notes,of course :D).So that is my challenge to myself-to pot every plastic £5 note I get between now and pot opening :money:.

    Potted my first fiver tonight.

Sooooooo close to pot opening.Sooooooo excited :j:j:j.

Can't believe that un-potting day is coming around quickly! Not much has gone in lately, but that's okay as it shows I'm not spending too much money. :o
