I have £3000 in bonds since 2003/4 and have won 4 lots of £25 ... two close together in September 2010 and January 2011 and two in the same draw this year in March 2015.

On a separate note I am in the process of setting up a standing order from my Barclays current account, to buy more bonds at the minimum £50 per month, can anyone kindly suggest the best date to use for the standing order.

I need the money to arrive on or before the last day of each month so that it goes into the draw not the next month, but the month-after.

My thoughts were to use the 24th of each month taking into account the shorter February ... And I'm not sure if the standing order is subject to the faster payment service.

I appreciate I may eventually find the answer to this question for myself, over time, but thought I would ask here, as it appears from this thread there is a vast number of people with experience, that may have trodden this path already.

    Thanks in advance.

    Checked for June 2 x £25 on £40,000.

Ready with my extra £10,000 to add later this month.
NS&I don't seem to be promoting the increase.

Do you want the million (that's the devil asking you), and does it matter whether you get 1% or no percent or minus percent on your £50K? Only you can know. I am doing £50K myself as I think I can afford it.

Inflation might have a thing or two to say about that.
