I phone up everyday for a balance on the account we have with barclays, and we don't use our card anymore, all we do now is withdraw our weekly budget for childminder, food, petrol, clothes etc and thats all we have to live on, it means we dont have to panic about there being money in the account0

How many Tesco's do you know that do not have ATMs nearby?
And you do not need an overdraft - you can (and should) craft your own buffer. You would think on this part of the board people might have learned from previous mistakes and would have started sensible practices. Apparently not.0 -
You need to ask them for a cleared balance. I've gone over twice now and once more and I'm in the shizz.. but I've got a back up account that I've started using instead.
If you have been charged, ring them up and ask if you can get one of the charges back as a goodwill gesture, they did for me, whilst telling me to write down all my spending to keep track on it (if only it were that easy).. lol..
