Any advice greatly appreciated!
Purchased an LG smart TV via Currys in may 2014 on my credit card.
It has just developed a fault, that a repairman states will require a new panel. This is economically not viable (his words).
Rang LG customer service, and have escalated complaint to next level, and awaiting call back today. I have stated the TV is not fit for purpose lasting only approx. 28 months.
Now I know LG will do their utmost to wriggle out of this, but do I still have any recourse via Barclaycard???
Many thanks.

Wait so have LG came out to repair this and said it's a manufacturing fault?
If so they need to repair, refund or replace it as it then falls under the SoGA 6 years limit.0 -
Update
Rang Barclaycard who are happy to send out a section 75 claim form.
More surprisingly, rang Currys who for a fee of £95 will look at the out of warranty product under the sale of goods act, if proven to be a manufacturing fault they will repair, or refund (inc fee)????
So Currys it is!0 -
Just as a additional option you could find your own specialist and see what cost they will do it for if its less than £95 go with them - currys will still refund the report cost if the report comes back that it's a manufacturing defect.0

Also the report needs to prove the fault is inherently faulty. A report just saying the panel has failed and unit is faulty will not suffice. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

LG technical department just called. Very nice guy states that ' this is a known fault within the industry, and the tv will require a new panel'.
Well I never did......!0 -

Unfortunately not. The contract is between 'the retailer and myself'.
I'm letting Currys deal with it now. Will await their report and see where to go from there.0 -
You could have just asked them to email you that report and see if Currys would accept that?0
