We often go out to dinner and order a bottle of wine or two at the restaurant. Sometimes, especially if we've bought a second bottle, we don't finish it all. Is it OK to ask if we can take the rest of the bottle home?

Yes. We always take left over wine home0

Why ask? Just do it, you've bought it, its yours, just take it!:hello:0

Definitely! You paid for it!
I ask for a doggy bag for other things too if they haven't been on plates, ie served in dishes at the table. It's criminal to waste so much when it can be used.0 -
Does the resturant have a licence for 'off sales'?0

There is the question of off licence but if you just take it they probably won't worry, most wine comes in screw tops these days or you can just carry a wine sealer, I have known restaurants bring a simple sealer when I haven't finished the bottle so I can take it.0

you paid for it - and once its opened they cant give it to anyone else so just take it with you!0

Definitely take your unfinished wine (eh?) home.
Just if it's bottle #3, check it is your bottle - strolling out with someone else's tipple may be misunderstood!0 -

Don't ask, the restaurant must say no if they don't have an off licence. Just take it.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0
