Can't get further than the initial page.

"Applying for Guaranteed Growth Bonds 65+

Investing in your sole name or jointly with someone else?

    Sole
    Joint"

    Oh well, try later.
  • This is a joke, been trying both phoneline and website for one and three quarter hours, getting nowhere:mad:

Another fiasco. As we would expect, this offer is very attractive and especially with the warnings that this is a limited offer, the demand is high.

Web site just not working and phone line jammed.

    Reminds me of Olympics tickets.

You'd have thought they would anticipate high traffic this morning.

Me to, typical Government website. Their phone just cuts you off, and website frozen

I wonder how enough people have found out about these today. I signed up for an email alert that hasn't arrived, and somebody else in the office hasn't either!

As a slightly-jealous under 65 year old, (jealous about the rates, not the application process!), good luck to those of you who qualify...

I did receive at alert - at 7:53. Also too young though.

    <slaps forehead>
all these people signing up for email alerts for a product they admit they cannot buy, and then wonder why the IT systems are overloaded.
    :T

Even allowing for unanticipated (huh?) demand and failing to prepare for it, the website is a mess.

I have been trying to apply without success. On the rare occasion that I got beyond 'apply' and entered my details, I got a message that JavaScript needed to be enabled. What? I'm pretty sure I have that.

Clicking on the 'help' (ha ha) link to find out about enabling JavaScript produces a Page Not Found.

The only very minor consolation is that if I can't apply, I'm not yet losing the opportunity as presumably others are having the same problem.

Funny how HMRC let me do self assessment and pay tax, yet NSandI won't let me apply. :(

I didn't sign up for this particularly - I get all NS&I alerts. They know my DoB but obviously haven't used it to filter things out. Then again I also have PoA for my parents so have an interest on their behalf as well.

Glad I am not the only one, I know I have Java enabled, yet another Government IT disaster:mad:
