sara41. If you are not a Core customer ( ie on Guaranteed Pension credit) I would hold off moving as I doubt people will lose £135 by the increase. You will receive your payment by 31.3.2014 but it may be a lot earlier.
Anyone thinking of moving in these circumstances should be aware it takes 5 or 6 weeks to change supplier and they are not allowed to assess you until you are on supply with them ( so cannot tempt you as a sale). At any given time the individual suppliers may close their schemes without any warning so for anyone who has not asked yet to be assessed for the Warm Home discount scheme I wold suggest contacting your supplier now.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0 -

Why do you want to change? If it's because of the SSE announcement, then all the other 5 will follow on shortly anyway, as surely as night follows day.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

And I thought British gas would be the first out the gate.
They must have decided amongst themselves who this Winter would increase their prices first!0 -

I've always wondered about this. When energy companies claim to have x million customers does that actually mean x million services provided? So a duel fuel customer would count as 2 customers? Reason I ask is the customers these companies claim to have, added together, would seem to be far in excess of the number of residential households in the UK.0

All I can picture in my head is them all sitting round a big table drawing straws as to who goes first, then they all console SSE saying, "Don't worry bud, we'll all be following you soon" and patting them on the back.

Yes, I think the lesson is, if you are PM never ever conduct a photo op outside a Peacocks storePlus, also bear in mind this occurred AFTER 'Call Me Dave' employed the services (at our expense) of an 'official photographer'!

Energy price increase notification
We’ve worked hard to keep prices at their current level and delay an increase for as long as possible, but unfortunately we will have to increase the price of EquiPower and EquiGas. You can find the new prices for your area and tariff type here.0 -
