If it was a choice between the presents arriving from the land of internet in time, or a letter from Santa. I would choose the presents every time.
"Sorry little David, Your presents did not arrive in time from Amazon, but your letter from Santa did.."
(MSE Jamie, I gave you your first Thanks:))0 -
Oh well, the kids didn't get some made-up letter from a fictitious fat bloke in a red suit."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

I tell the oldest that he is not real, and its me. Still does not believe it, and it pushes the belief even further.
I tell them about a famous Cola company who turned Father Christmas from Green to Red...0 -
Spoiled Brats. Their parents should have had the wit to fake the letter when they became aware that delivery had been delayed.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

^^^^ This.
Fancy complaining about a free service!!
Portable north pole is better anyway.
Happy moneysaving all.0 -
What parents are too lazy now to do their own letter from Santa?! My sister does her own, and it's more personal like their achievements over the year, naming 2 of their friend's, what they want for Xmas etc.0

The thing I'm annoyed about the most is spending money on a 1st class stamp. We did this last year and didn't get a letter back so hoped that sending early in December would see a letter in return, but nope! We ended up writing a letter ourselves. Waste of a first class stamp when they're so blooming expensive! Royal Mail must've made a lot of money in stamps from this 'scheme' this year!I won't be doing again. As others have said, portable North Pole is much better (and completely free!!)0

To be fair I tend to write my own Santa letter, much more personalised in relation to my children. Very easy to do using word and some clip are Santa pics, add a few photos of the kids from the year. Doesn't take long and magically appears by fireplace one day :-)
Add in a portablenorthpole free Santa video/email message that doesn't rely on the post and jobs a goodun!0 -
it gives the kids an early lesson on not raising expectations too high. a valuable life asset for when they are older.0
