You are saying all the people that rioted were out of work? I don't think so!!!

I have no job and I DO NOT behave like this and I am desperate!

Do not blame the govement for people have no regard for the law, people or the place where they live - these people (working or not) are scum!!!

Of course they're in the minority. Most of those are too busy working. Unemployed have more time on their hands and so the majority will obviously be those out of work, and if they were gainfully employed then they might not be behaving like that, although there is a small possibility that some might. 8 million unemployed and how many jobs? There never has been and there never will be enough jobs to go around. Fact. What a shame.
Even more of a shame when it seems that some major retailers are recruiting far below their usual number of paid christmas workers because they are awaiting unpaid workers to come along under the Employment Programme to do their four weeks worth of 'work experience'. Meanwhile charities are crying out for help from volunteers.

No doubt many will disagree with my ideas for a variety of reasons, but here goes anyway because the current situation is grossly unfair.

If I was the government I would declare a two year plan to even out the work available over the whole available workforce i.e. ALL people either not retired or genuinely long-term sick, also of course those still at school or college or detained at HMPs. Everybody else would be in work which would be a limited maximum number of hours per week for everyone according to the government figure for that month or quarter as needs of the economy change.

To share the available work around, everyone might only be working 30 hours maximum per week, but at least the national cake would be cut fairly for all. As the economy got better everyone's maximum hours would increase to suit.

No more paying people to sit at home watching tv worrying about the bills while others work 60 or 70 hours per week. Let's have a fairer society, with prosperity across the board rising and falling over time as the economy picks up or slows down.

The current system is total madness.
