Except that normally the machine without a queue is out of money...
And of course not all machines are equal, some limit you to £250 per transaction whereas others let you have £500 per go.I think....0 -
And if there is a queue at all ATMs you will have to queue regardless0

Everyone at my local Asda seems to queue for the Nationwide machine. They don't seem to like the new "Asda Financial Services" machine. Not sure why, but everyone seems to have a phobia of it! I always use it and saves queuing.0

Why is this classed as a "News" item?0

I thought how much you were allowed to take out depended on your bank not the machine?
I have to admit that I do the thing of favouring certain banks' cash machines, mostly NatWest or Barclays, but then they seem to be the most prevelant at train stations and similar where you might want cash. No idea why!
Although the fact that some people don't know about these things does surprise me..."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
Loads of people probably have those cards like the Lloyds TSB where you can only use their own machines too.
I do prefer Barclays and Co-op machines though, they have readable screens. Some Lloyds ones have a tiny monitor, and it isn't even right next to the screen cover.0 -
Round here, people form one queue and use the first available machine.
Bit of a non-story really. sorry0 -
It's human nature to steer clear of things everyone else is avoiding.0

Perhaps you could arrange for the installation near me of a cash machine without queues? Now that would be worthy of a news story. Of course some transactions (eg mini-statements, deposits, statement requests), have to be carried out at the banks' own machines0
