Whats a good 'emergency pack' to keep in the car?
So far i only have 3 litres of water and an empty plastic milk bottle refilled with screen wash.
What should i keep in my car in the event of accidents or breaking down?

A torch, selection of fuses, the list is endless..........The man without a signature.0

Tent?
Food for a week?
Shovel?
The point is it really does depend where you are going.
P.s. you probably only need to carry screenwasher fluid if you are not in the habit of checking the fluid level frequently. The point here is that preparation (or preventative maintenance) may well avoid the need to carry much.0 -

I keep, now...
First aid kit,
Warning triangle,
Blanket,
Tool kit (with jump leads),
Couple of litres of water,
Spare oil,
Nice big torch
That's about it...There's normally other stuff floating around in the boot too, though (steering lock, spare shoes etc)0 -
I have
Torch
Hi-Vis vest
Triangle
First Aid kit
All of the above are what the fleet company put in all our company cars
Then I have a bulb kit but only beacuse I go abroad occasionally and it's a requirement in some countries.
Other than that my mobile, wallet and roadside reccovery detail;s are always with me anyway.
Mind you if I'm out in my old Land Rover than I have hi-lift jack, tool kit, jump leads, duck tape, bits of wire, connectors for the wire, fuses, bulbs, oil and water. Depending on where I'm going I also have a spade, tow rope, shackles, strops etc. as well. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
I have:
Torch
Footpump
Hi Viz waistcoat
Warning Triangle (fold up type)
Gloves
Woolie Hat
Fire Extinguisher
First Aid Kit
Mobile Phone (on my person)
500ml water and 500ml bottle of mixed ready to use screenwash
spare bulb kit
break down card
old towel (handy for all sorts of things)0 -
Nothing, you don't want that kinda thing hitting you as you race around a race track.0

The true contents of my boot do not match my ideals of an emergency equipment pack.
:rotfl:
I always carry a warning triangle, a blanket, a bottle of water, phone. I really need to purchase a breaker bar because although I am perfectly competent at changing a wheel, I have had to suffer the embarrassment of calling out the AA to change a wheel before because I am only a weedy girl and not physically strong enough to turn the nuts with the silly little tool Ford provide.
Note to self: buy breaker bar, make changing wheels a pleasure. :rotfl:
The rest of the junk in my boot includes a few car parts and my wellies, waterproofs, bucket, brush, stethoscope etc (vet in training). And pens, I seem to have a lot of pens in my car. It's the secret destination of all those biros you have ever lost: my car.

Strangely enough I've just cleaned my car this afternoon - now has
Packet of Polo mints
Users handbook
Set of replacement bulbs
Torch
Two cassettes
2 carrier bags
I dalmatian beany
inside the car, and
First Aid kit
HiVis jacket
Set of jump leads
Lemonade bottle of ready mixed screen wash - Labelled (I'm a clean screen freak)
Can of de-icer
Wellies
Plastic sheet
in the boot.
Good idea to carry a triangle, I'll ask for one for my b/day next month. My kids are used to my strange requests, last year it was a water butt, the year before a sack barrow!0
