50p bread, eggs and butter in Asda for 1 week

It's in the Daily Mail (I know, I know, I just read the online version) that there is a price war currently raging between the Big Three supermarkets, and Asda have launched a range of 50p foods which includes bread, eggs and butter - all Smartprice, but you can freeze all of those things (yes, you can freeze eggs, though you have to take them out of the shell and beat them first - muffin tins are good for freezing eggs in).

Hi piptiddlepip,
you may find occasionally buying the DM can actually save you money. Today for example there are 2 mag coupons totalling £ 4.30, so that will help the shopping bill anyway. I know not all Asdas take coupons, but most will accept 10% off your bill at least, get a young bored male and you can get quite a few accepted

thanks OP I'm off this weekend to get loaded up on butter as I use it in my homemade bread which still works out cheaper than 50p a loaf so I won't be buying the bread lol.
might have to come up with loads of egg recipes tho.
edited: just looked and you can freeze salted butter for upto 12 months so that might help a few peeps.1st son born 11/02/05 2nd son born 09/01/08
thats all i'm adding to the human race so think yourselfs lucky lol0 -
Maybe I'm being cynical but cant help thinking its the poor supplier who is being hit for these cuts0
