Boots mobile phones - £72 Free advantage points

Options
Hi Ive just been looking for a mobile phone for my daughter who uses texts alot.

After seeing the offers on Boots points I decided to look at the mobiles they have for sale

http://www.bootsphones.com/incentiveDetails.aspx?ret=0&pc=5&tc=13&np=9&m=3&p=162&i=562026&pkg=MVSZ133KP02105901&st=0&offset=0&hp=0&rt=0&t=1815

this Free Motorola V220 is on vodaphone at £16.00 a month for an 18 month contract with 1000 off peak minutes and 250 texts a month total payment £288.00. Now Im sure I must be going mad because they are offering 36000 worth £360 in advantage points.

The only catch seems to be that you get 1000 points on delivery and the remaining 35000 has to be claimed on receipt of the 7th invoice.

I have read and re read this offer and still come to the conclustion that I get £72.00 pounds worth of points FREE - please can somebody confirm this as it surely doesnt make sense.

They have lots of points offers on phones but this one seems to me to be the best

Official Insert

This is a web only offer and subject to availability but Boots press office have advised it should be on til the end of Sept. As with all Boots online offers you'll have to go in store and claim your points via the Boots Advantage kiosk.

I wonder if this is a 'misprice' as only other phones with a higher monthly rental seem to have the 36,000 points, the other lower monthly line rentals seem to be much lower point amounts

Can't see there's much to lose. You would lose the points + incur a hefty charge if you change tarriff...but can't see there would be much need to at that price.

    Thanks Addy

Thought it was to good to be true but it seems to be ok and Boots normally honour any web site mistakes

The offer is probably 'good' as the phone is an old modal. Argos are selling them on PAYG for £39.97 and Virgin are Selling Recon's for £39.99.

Seems like a good deal, but if your after a different/better phone you could try :

Nokia 6610i on same tariff : cost £288, get £360 points (£72 "profit")

Nokia 7260 on same tariff : cost £288, get £320 points (£32 "profit")

Siemens M65 on same tariff : cost £288, get £330 points (£42 "profit")

Sony Ericsson T290i on same tariff : cost £288, get £360 points (£72 "profit")

However, Possibly the best tariff deal is :

Sagem MYX5-2 on T-Mobile Relax 100 tariff (100 cross network anytime minutes, free voicemail 10p calls at all time, 25p to other networks) cost £276, get £360 points :
    (£84 "profit")

This gives you the most 'money' back and the best/most flexible tarrif! :D

I think it is 1000 points automatically and then on receipt of 7th payment the balance of the points get added!
