Weekly Flylady Thread 5th May 2008

Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week when it comes to housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you might start to enjoy it!

Following requests to start things steadier for new members who did not realise the tasks list wasn’t a must do, just an encouragement. There will now be level 1, 2 and 3. Level 1 being very basic it has been requested that this is just one task per day, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. If you want to do level 2 you add the tasks on level 1 with the level 2 tasks, if you want to do level 3 you add the tasks on, easy peasy. Choose a level to aim for but be realistic, if you’ve got a busy day on or are just starting etc aim for level one, if you get higher then great, if not then not to worry its only suggestions. Every room comes back around next week. Trust me some days I'll only be doing level one myself.

THESE LISTS ARE ONLY SUGGESTIONS AND NOT A MUST DO LIST, ALWAYS WELCOME TO POST AND FOLLOW YOUR OWN.

Also adding a declutter mission each day. Another one where it’s up to you if you want to do it or if you need to. This follows requests from members who are looking to declutter. Fling boogies, hotspot clearing, cupboard sorts, drawer sorts etc will all be on this list. Any problems with this of any suggestions do please let me know.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

27 Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding 27 items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
5GC five minutes gardening.. make it lovely for your spring flowers and sowing

    Morning Pigpen.

No bank holiday here, so I'm just going to go as usual and try and catch up a wee bit more :)

    To do:
Kids go back to school today - YAYYYYYYY
    Washing out on the line (tho it looks a bit like rain so maybe put it up inside);
    Weekly menu
    Grocery list
    Grocery shopping
    Work
Walk mutts - OH doing right now
Unpack groceries - worst job of the day
    Dinner - chicken burgers
Sweep kitchen floor & entry floor
Wipe down kitchen bench after dinner
Give each of the boys a housework job to do after dinner
Spend half an hour on business accounts.

Sleep well everyone, and enjoy your Monday holiday.

I will certainly be doing my flying this week, finally starting to feel a little better and my glands have now almost gone down. As OH is flying back out to work in the afternnoon i have a few jobs to go before he does go including the dreaded ironing. 8 loads of washing done this weekend a 3 more to go!!!

If i can get all rooms looking tidy and then the ironing doen tomorrow i will be happy:D

Hope everyone is well, i haven't seen much of the last thread as i just haven't had chance to get on the net.

Take care all and happy flying xx

Caught up quite a bit on last week's list, although not as much as I'd hoped. Will have a bit of a "holiday" Pigpen, thank you, but still trying to get back on top of things. As well as my usual "Dailies" I want to at least undercoat the woodwork in the back hall, and possibly top coat the walls. Oh, and catch up all the ironing.

    Also
[strike]want to get patios swept, grass cut, hanging baskets and other pots filled[/strike], car cleaned inside and out, but OH is going to be helping there (as well as scrubbing the floor in the shower room)

Doing OK so far. And DH is back under control. :rotfl:He's been climbing but called me at lunchtime to check in (Health & Safety - not control freak!) and again on way home when he offered to make dinner. That meant I could finish seed trays (8 of them) in mini greenhouse. Anyway, he made chicken breasts wrapped in bacon and a savoury white sauce (the first time he's ever made one so really pleased with himself) with rice and veg.

He's just made me a cup of tea too!

Anyway, he did say all I have to do is make him a list and he'll do jobs, so that's what I'm going to do! I'm definitely going to print off Weekly list (Not going to keep changing it though) and laminate it to put on fridge. Then he can help flying! And I'm going to make a list of all the other jobs that need doing as and when he can, not laminate it, but then he can do whatever he has time for. :T

Have spent most of the afternoon trying to sort DD electric out. She is on a key meter and reckons its cost her a fortune this last week but nothings changed. £22 in a week. She has to keep a record of her meter readings for 7 days. I did discover Im on the wrong tarriff so will be sorting that out.

    Evening everyone.

Nicki i have no doubts that you will achieve everything you set out to do. (Big Hugs) for on the way.

Everyone in bed early tonight but i got woken up by the phone so now i'm wide awake. Going to meet a friend for lunch tomorrow and OH is to keep the kids except he wants me to take DD with me. He also asked what time i'd be back and said "try not to be to long" so i think meet at 12noon back after 5 that will teach him.:rotfl:

Kaz i asked them why and all i got was don't know, so told them the bin man was coming tomorrow to take away all their toys their response was i don't like my toys anyway. Now i'm not sure what to do. Cheeky brats.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
