Squeaky - I know that you like to keep busy on the OS board and we wouldn't want you to be bored, so......an idea...
Bear with me for a minute
There have been a few threads recently with pleas for missing items such as kitchen appliance manuals and on the other hand there have been offers of help like the replacement bowl for a La Redoute slow cooker, also the garden seed offer thread has now been re-envigorated.
Do you think that there should be one single thread to post all the wants and offers to keep them all together? this would would be put in the Old Style Collections by someone handy with that kind of thing  and perhaps be called 'the village notice board' or the 'corner shop notice board' or something similar.
I know that there is the 'I wanna' board lower down but this would have an Old Style twist (would flower seeds look odd on the I wanna board?)
Does anyone else think that this will work?

Hmm...
The manuals thread is now clearly marked in the Appliances section of the MEGA Index, which seems like a good place for it
The seed swap could go in our Organic Collection or indeed, when I catch up, into the Grow your own section of the MEGA Index.
Some of the threads in our earlier collections are now being duplicated in the MEGA Index along with other items that those quick sweeps missed and in fact, when I'm more up to date, parts of them will be redundant and so make them much more amenable to tidying up and quicker to navigate.
As for a wanted ads notice board... again, as I catch up, each of these small threads will appear in the appropriate place in the index instead of being jumbled up in one big long thread so in the long term (I know they might be a bit awkward to find right now) they should be easier to locate. More to the point - if they are started as individual threads they are much easier to move to a different board if they really would be better served there than in Old Style.
Just so you know - I have to catalogue about 150 threads per week just to keep even with you all and actually do more than that (in the region of 200+) if I want to catch you up since I started well over 2000 threads behind...
..and what with one thing and another I've been falling behind over the last couple of weeks and with less time to help out looking for things which is the area of Board Guiding I enjoy most.
Anyway - once the MEGA Index is caught up, we can have a look and see if certain threads ought to have their own section or if they work fine just as they are. I'll certainly be reviewing all the indexes later - things are just taking a bit longer than I thoughtHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. the thing is that MSE has always tried to discourage the swapping of personal information in order to buy/swap/give items,
obviously some people become friends and swap emails addresses etc. and done via pm it's out of the Teams control
but offers to send items and asking for personal details on the boards, so therefore asking if someone has something, is not allowed either, I'm just looking for the rule that mentions this but HERE is a link to a post which doesI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. That's fine, I hadn't realised that there had been problems in the past0
