Car Boot Sale Virgin!!

Hi everyone :hello: ,

There's a car boot sale close to me and I was going to have a clearout. It will consist mainly of Sim Cards ;) abd Disposable Cameras but also baby stuff and kids toys.

How do I go about this? Do I make price cards? Do many people buy at that price or do they expect a good haggle?

Any help and tips are appreciated! :D

If you look back through the pages I think there was a similar thread last week, I'm sure someone will be along soon to provide the link

Thanks fruityslh, I read that thread yesterday, but I have never even been to a car boot sale.
What I need help with is the basics, like the setup and whether items should be priced

I have quite a few so I was thinking of selling the sim cards in bundles or a multibuy with the cameras 'Buy two cameras, get a free sim card!'.
What do you think, would this interest you at car boot sale???

    no, I am afraid not!

I made up a sign as I have loadsa sim cards, I stuck it to the table and put 2 sim cards on top to show people what they are! no-one bought one!! I had on the sign ...20 for £10 etc 1 for £3 and what they had with them but no interest!! you culd try with the cameras but maybe you would get a better deal on ebay for a group of people going to a party (Hen,stag, birthday???)

    Good luck anyway!!

I`ve done 4 car boots so far this summer and Love it !!!

Had a major clearout and it took me 4 visits to clear it all !! The excess went to charity but I made over £200.

DO NOT PRICE THINGS UP !! People will look and WALK OFF !! Been there, done it !

What I tend to do is say `make me an offer`... or say a price higher than what you want as they usually haggle you down anyway !

Re Sim cards, I took my O2 ones to the car boot and sold them for between £1 and £2 each. Most people know of ebay and know they can pick them up from there for around £1, so don`t expect much more than £2 !

Also take a wall paper pasting table 7& a rug to put stuff on if you run out of space on the table !

    Hope that helps !

Thanks angel, cameras are going quite well on ebay but as this car boot sale is close I thought I could try and shift the rest without the hassle of the auction.

I'll not pin my hopes on the sim cards then :D
It's really an opportunity to clear large items that are too awkward to put on ebay; prams, buggies, old bikes. DW wanted them dumped, so anything is a bonus :j

It's not 'til next Friday, but I let you know if I get anything special for the sim cards ;)
