Yes I sent a cheque off, eventually a got a letter back saying the account was set up (about a week and a half later) , account no etc and cheque had cleared. They don't send you a pass book (unless you request one) and I've now noticed there doesn't seem to be any information on the web site re this account!
If you have over £250 they should send you a letter stating if interest rates have changed, if below they post in local papers. As for their web site, i think the Star Easy Access Saver, the details must have fallen off the edge of the screen. Perhaps they gave the government the information and they lost this as well ! I think I might try and call them."Every Pounds A Prisoner "

OK, just called them on 0845 330 0611. The account has been withdrawn and they are not accepting any further applications (according to the very helpful person on the phone, who really enjoys doing his job - by the sound of it!).
This happened last week apparently - he wasn't any more specific. The interest rates haven't apparently changed yet, although I'll wait and see rather than trust the oracle of the phone."Every Pounds A Prisoner "

Yes I agree, an acknowledgement would have been nice. Our investments were sent off 14/02 and a week later I enquired whether or not they had received the cheques.(It was extremely difficult to get to speak to them) The CSA was pleasant & polite and confirmed the account had been sanctioned on the 16th. It is now the 8/03 so by my reckoning thats 3weeks today and we have received absolutely nothing. I know its been a very popular account, but surely the brains of the outfit might just have recognised that this would be the case and should have been better prepared.Sally
