Hi Mumzyof2
welcome and yes, setting out your Statement Of Affairs is a good idea to start with then a budget plan.
I applaud you though for getting on the climb out of debt
Any help available from your family this month?
No doubt whatsoever that in the next couple of hours there will be tonnes more support and advice.
you seem to be a brill mum as you are tackling money head on and not just pretending to your kids that it all comes on a plate - Yeah good on you!!!0 -
Hi Mumzyof2
I think that sounds like a great idea, it is also worth posting on here things you are planning on spending money on (whether groceries or other things) and people might be able to help you to get them cheaper or suggest cheaper alternatives. Do you currently do anthing to up your income?? Free bingo etc?? Hypno and others have made quite a bit on the free bingo sites.
I hope that things start to get a bit better for you soon. Fingers crossed for you.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Hi Mumzyof2,
Sorry I don't have words of wisdom or advice, but I can understand how you feel, I've been there myself.
I wish you well on sorting yourself out and the support you will get from everyone here will certainly help you on your way.I won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead

Hello
I think posting on here will help. It should stop things going around in your head when actually written down. If you get the chance to do a SOA then peeps will have a chance to advise/recommend stuff.
Second poorandindenial, that I hope things improve for you soon xx.:j0 -
ok this is it..Ive done this before but my circumstances have changed

Income support - £59.15 a week
Child tax - £76.16 a week

My rent is £575.00 so i £380.60 HB and £120.80 Child Benifit always goes to my rent. The remaining money has to come from my Child Tax or Income Support.

Thats about it to be honest, I have a 700 social loan. which when i come off incomes upport i stopped paying, but they recently wrote to me again as im back on income support, but i will be paying £7 a week again but i wont see that as it will come straight from my income support money b4 it reaches my accountSealed Pot dec 08 - dec 09 so far £27.67, Live off £4k Spent £330.20 GC £1,200 for 2009 Spent £50.78 PaD so far £650.07Debts: L/woods £154.00 C/One PAID O/D £649.90 Next £299.95 O/D PAID Gas £72.60 Electric £155.73 Mum £640.00 Orange £490.320 -
Hi Mumzy,
I agree a SOA would be a good start to see if anyone can help, otherwise theres little we can offer in practiacl help.
If its any consolation were in a similar situation as were going more and more OD each month by meeting all the minimum payments, bills etc.
Whats your work / life balance? Can up your income? Are you getting the right benefits? This was crucial for us as we realised we weren't getting all the tax credits we were due.
I noticed the Jan groc challenge in your sig, what about Feb? Also the 4k challenge, so presumably your keeping track of all your spending which is a great start.0 -
ooh you beat me to the SOA, serves me right for getting up to check on dinner mid post!0

what are the APR's of all your debts. Its worth having a thorough go through all the paperwork to make sure you know exactly whats what as it gives you a plan of action.
The thing that really stands out is the tv, phone, internet package. Thats a lot of money just for the package without all the calls on top too.0
