2for1 business class flights

What the deal?
Much more expensive than a normal tip, but for those with the cash, wanting a serious treat (please don't get it if you can't afford it, and never borrow for it) The Times is offering 2for1 Silverjet business class returns to New York and Dubai, when you buy three copies of the paper. So two of you can fly business class for £688 each.
How to grab your flights
You need to collect three different passwords, published everyday in the Times between Sat 16 Feb and Fri 22 Feb. Once you have your three passwords, call 0844 855 2343 to book.
The offer’s only valid on “standard class” fares, which are £1300 to both London and Dubai, and the second person must pay £77 taxes. So the total fare for two people works out at £1,376.
Bookings must be made by 29 Feb, for travel between 1 July and 31 Aug 2008. You have to pay applicable taxes.
How does this compare to other fares?
As an example, I tried booking for a long weekend in New York in July. Flying business class would have cost £1170 per person on British Airways, or American Airlines £1,500.
Rough cheap economy faresfor these dates was £550, although this was flying out on Friday and returning Monday; cheaper fares downwould be available if you didn’t want to fly at the weekend; often in the low £200s.
For the extra cash, you get 6'3" seat room; access to the Silverjet lounge at the airport; posh food from London restaurant Caprice; and you can check in just 30-mins before departure.

Today and this week in The Times, 2 for 1 silverjet tickets for travel in July and August, book by end of February. The cheapest fare is £1,099 each, but it is first class travel so looks a good deal.
You need to note the passwords in the paper and then phone a number to book. Fares are changeable (for £100 PP per leg) but not refundable.

After maxjet went bust at the end of 2007, it may be as well to pay by credit card.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. have to say that this an absolute bargain for a trip to NYC , by my reckoning the price should be a total of £1099.30 for 2 people including taxes and charges.
the service is superb and without getting into a comparison with other business class carriers you have to keep reminding yourself of a fare of £550 each.
i flew on a leisure break last year with them and have already booked for this year...., at a higher price than the latest offer.
book with your credit card as always for safety.0 -
