Much Cheaper Calls To 0845/0870 Numbers!!!!!

I have discovered that if you use https://www.abroadtel.co.uk 1p a minute UK landline calls access number 0844 721 0001.You can dial UK 0845/0870 calls for 1p a minute at any time.I think this could be an error on there part. but nevertheless it works. :j

Dont forget to enter the number in full intl mode eg 0044845100xxx/0044870100xxx if you try it.

This is a great offer. In the interests of fairness I'll pass for now, until it's verified that this isn't just a mistake. Companies like this should be nurtured, not exploited.

Isn't the point that it costs money to dial the 0844 number too? Then presumably you have to add the two together.

No sorry thats incorrect it costs 1p a minute to dial that particular 0844 access no.You then enter your ngn in intl format (see my original posting) and thats it,(all you are charged is 1p a minute to call the 0844 no).A min call charge of 5p would of course apply if you were not connected,or if your call was short.

Perhaps its not a mistake after all,i just tried dialling an 0870 number using one of there dearer 0844 access numbers.I got an announcement something to the effect that calls to 0870 numbers cant be accessed from this number, but they can be from 0844 721 0001.

I agree it is either a promotional price or an error of somekind as they have to making a loss at that price. It could be that they haven't programmed their system to exclude calls to 084x/087x NGN's. If this still works after a month (by this time I'm guessing they'd realise by then) or so then it is likely to be correct. Only time will tell.

One caution though, OneTel don't route calls to 0844 72x and I had to dial 1280 (BT's CPS override). If you're wondering why I even tried using OneTel, it's because we still have about £30 credit with them.

    What?............
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
    They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").

So thank pricefighter ( not me ) for a brilliant find.

If One-tel won't route calls to 0844 72x then that's a big negative for them now that all these lower cost international providers are using those numbers. Such numbers do work on some other CPS providers like Toucan Telecom, so you don't get stuck with the BT 5p minimum charge (on Toucan just a 1 minute minimum, but all calls are rounded up to whole minutes, which is a disadvantage on the higher cost per minute calls).

Anyone know of other CPS providers that won't route calls to any of the 0844 numbers ?
