Default Want to be on/in the audience for It Pays To Watch?

Hi folks,

I've got m'own series starting on 9 Jan, then showing every Wednesday for 20 weeks at 7:30pm on Five TV. It's going to be a magazine type show - almost a MoneySavingExpert.com on the telly (read my blog on it).

I really want MoneySavers to take part, so if you're interested there are loads of opportunities.

This telly show has a small invited audience – if you’d like to be part of it then do apply – places are available from February onwards.
  • Want to be in the audience? The studios are in Bayswater in West London and we'll be filming late on Wednesday afternoons plus there's a dress rehearsal on Monday 7 Jan. If you're interested please contact audience@moneysavingproductions.com
  • Are you an extraordinary MoneySaver? We're coming around the country to meet extra-ordinary MoneySavers; people who've taken one element of MoneySaving to the nth degree.

So, for example, if you're a Tesco wombler, a freebie grabber who flogs it on eBay, a matched better or if you have your own 0870 number to make banks pay.

If so, and you're willing to tell your tale, please e-mail us with details at Xmoneysavers@moneysavingproductions.com
That's it folks, more on the new series when we know. Thanks for all your help.

Martin

Default Right Venue ? Right Disguise?

I take it this is what I would call "Channel 5" (of 22 Long Acre WC2), that I can get, if I switch aerials(!), on my old "steam" TV; I don't have to get one of those new fangled digi-box things?

Should we all come along in disguise? Mind you judging by some peoples avatars it would end up as a recording of the "Rocky Horror Show".

Seriously though I've already had my 15 seconds of fame on Ester Ransen's "That's Life" - yes it was in colour honest.

Put the dates in you new diary now (or your 'phone 'fruit or where ever you keep your jottings).

Harry.

PS Presumably "Five" will be playing the year's fastest charting protest song?

Excellent news, plus my mother, who just can't work out how to sign up for the email, bless her (and can barely work out how to read them anyway) likes that 'nice Martin Lewis off the telly' so I'll make sure she'll be watching too!

Default One Worry

First of all Martin thank you for all your help in saving me £££'s. This is my first blog. I am delighted for you that you have secured a 10 week prime time show, I will certainly be watching. My one worry is that the Banks, Supermarkets, Insurance Companys, Utilities Companys....and so on, will also be watching and tightening up on loopholes and rules, making it harder for us MSE's to take advantage...
Good luck all the same with your show.

Minus 15 but still going up...Super Leeds UTD.

Fantastic news Martin, well done. Will it really be on the same time as Coronation Street?

Lightbulb Advertising on breaks

I take Five TV will be putting adverts on for banks, loans, insurance, gas, electric......
Think its called product placement.

Martins telling you how to get the best of your money (and loopholes) when tesco put an advery up about thier new wine offer of the week (25% off) or something?????

I'll definitely be watching - I wish I could be in the audience but with the school run and no babysitters it would be tricky.

Looking forward to it

There certainly will be adverts in the break; though luckily there won't be sponsorship (something I requested of the channel and wonderfully they were happy to do) and I ,of course, have no control over them. However that isn't product placement; that's when they pay for products to be within programmes - e.g. people lovingly drinking Coke or something in a drama. And there certainly won't be any product placement...

not even MoneySavingExpert.com as Ofcom regulations mean as presenter I can't mention my own 'product'.

As for Debt consolidation adverts - its possible they will appear. Then again the counter is we have half an hour to get people sensible with their money; and if we weren't doing it the ads would be there anyway!

Martin

That's great you've got your own series. We'll be watching.

Can I request one thing though please?

Can you slow down a bit when you talk. I can understand your enthusiasm but it can be quite a lot of information to take in and my grey cells are not as sharp as they used to be!

Has anyone got details of the times of filming, as I live quite a way from London and need to check out travelling before I ask or commit to tickets... TVM!
