Are ALL o2 phones unlocked?
Comments
-
Its hard to say as depends on which supplier you get it from and assuming it is contract. o2 themselves don't lock their contract phones but if you get the phone from another supplier but using the o2 network it may be locked but this is unlikely (but not impossible). If its PAYG then it'll be locked as all networks lock their PAYG phones.
Remember, if the phone you're after is a Nokia then chances are it can be unlocked easily and for free by visiting the thread at the top of the mobile forum section.0 -
I was frustrated that the free unlock codes on the net didn't unlock my contract O2 but then I realised it wasn't locked in the first place!0

It's an ericsson k750i from phones4u - o2 contract. Is it possible to unlock this phone yet?0

I've never used phones4u so don't know if they lock their contract phones. I've used o2 themselves and mobileshop.com and neither lock their phones.Darren21 wrote:It's an ericsson k750i from phones4u...
Either way, just try it with inserting a different sim and see if it works. If not, then you'll have to use a cable, etc as mentioned by plumb1. Most stall dealers will unlock for around £5 - £20. I say £5 as my local one does but I've seen people trying to charge £20 though for some phones.0 -
does the k750i o2 come with a data cable?
I think i saw some retailers state that data cable, 64mb memorystick (plus adapter)..etc.
If it is locked then hopefully we can unlock it using the cable provided with the package.0 -
Not sure if they still do but phones4u used to supply unlocked phones on their contracts. They would just use a SIM free phone and then add a SIM for your desired network. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

It is generally a special cable that is used that has an electronic device on the end that works out the code and unlocks it, etc.scanner wrote:...If it is locked then hopefully we can unlock it using the cable provided with the package.
I could be wrong on this and you may get away with using the data cable supplied but you would still need software to unlock the phone and I guarantee that it won't be included.0 -
when moving to a lower tariff on o2 (after 6 months) - do you simply phone o2 and ask for it when the 6 month is over or do you have to give 1 months notice which will then mean phoning o2 on 5 months for the downgrading to be effective from 6 months onwards?0
