Quick question to anyone who signed up to e7even recently...

Options
Just wondering how long it took from signing up online to their broadband package to receiving the free modem and getting connected?

I'd like to time it so I can cancel my dial up without going over into the next month.

I signed e7even on Friday 6th May. On Monday 16th May I emailed to ask when modem will be delivered, I got a reply back with few hours to say modem will arrive at end of week, so will the line will also be activated by end of week. I got my modem the next day, Tuesday the 17th.

Yesterday afternoon around 2.45 I still had not line activated, so I emailed to say it is end of week, but line is no activated, by 4.20 I had an sms saying my line is activated.

Then got an email saying that they were sorry, BT did not inform them that the line has been activated. So since last night I set up wirless and really enjoy fast wirless connection on 3 machines.

Hi. Both my son and I joined e7even recently and will give you a timetable in a minute. BUT, I would suggest that for the sake of one months dialup payment, I would NOT cancel untill your broadband package is in place and you are satisfied.

I registered on 8th May, I was told on the 9th, the box would be distributed within days. In the event, due to a "rush" at their end, it took a week. It arrived on the 17th and we connected everything the next day. They emailed and texted me to say I was up and running as we concluded installation. My son and I both had minor hiccups which customer services dealt with. If you ring when they're busy, they call you back at THEIR expense.

the speed of 512 is doubled to 1mbp as you know during this promotion. I have experienced "server problems" today for a short time, however, the speed is great.PM me or Mike P if you want to know more. Oh, we are unconnected with the company.

I'm STILL not connected despite the BT line being ready since last Monday.
I wish I had gone with someone else!

  • Many thanks for the replies. Whilst you are waiting to be connected - did they still deduct the money from your debit/credit card or does that happen after you are up and running?

I shall keep my dialup going in view of the replies. I still need to keep access to the net so will bear in mind the delays.

    thanks again

I had problems with them claiming BT not confirming the activation had taken place so wasted a good few days on that, then when I tried to activate the connection wizard didn't run from the disk so the drivers didn't load.
They put me onto Safecom (wireless router maker) website for replacement drivers but the site was faulty so couldn't select from there. Then they shunted me off to another site with a list of drivers none which seemed to be appropriate for the wireless router they had supplied.
Eventually they sent a replacement disk but this is no better than the first. I've found the support service totally useless and most unhelpful. Not sure what to do now but presumably they will suggest something on Monday. They haven't replied to my emails today.

Can I make a suggestion. If anyone has a problem and they really NEED to phone (at £1 min), prepare exactly what the problem is, or think it might be, expect a slow recorded voice to use up the first minute, then as soon as the opportunity arises, speak clearly and give you name & BOTH phone numbers along with your user name, and conclude with you would LIKE them to return the call within the hour as you are going out.

Although I didn't add the last bit, it might be favourable. They DID ring and spent almost 10 mins advising, plus they rang back again. I know I may have said this before, but as some people are clearly having hiccups, I thought it only fair to redress the balance.

and finally, I still hold the view that when you make the decision to purchase a product, it should be fit for the service intended. They would'nt send out a box without the modem, or cables and then expect you to trot off to B&Q to complete the package, so why expect a faulty or missing disc to be aquired elsewhere?. Three little words spring to mind "Duty of care",

    Hi quoia,
I have had the exact same trouble as Ted. They denied that BT had connected me, despite the BT engineer who lives nearby assuring me that it was.
Then I got the package MINUS the CD. They pointed me to the same website as Ted----Safecom.cn----but no drivers there.
They have taken my money of course.
Tech.support have been less than helpful. They have failed to reply to emails.
I was beginning to take it personally until I read Ted's post. :p

I'm with e7even and their tech support have been very helpful.
Line was activated when they said and I connected up and was working within an hour.
I didn't order any hardware from them though, I locally sourced a modem router (NOT wireless) and just setup the 3 or 4 parameters as per the email they sent me upon activation. Although it doesn't say so and does not bear any badge. my router appears to be a Safecom product - has the same default admin password anyway !

Exactly which product do you have and what driver do you require ?
If I can help I will.
