Excellent Radio bought 1 for missus to listen to local radio station in Donegal,Ireland.
Definately recommend.
You can tune in to any radio station around the world.
You need to log in your WEP key.
Mono speaker but excellent sound output.0 -
We got one of these a couple of weeks ago. We live in a spot where FM reception is useless and the maximum broadband is only 1mb (often only get 200k in the evenings). The radio works great, even when the datastream drops off, and the listen again feature on BBC is a real bonus. The only slight problem is that the power supply is noisy, if you were close to the radio and listening at low volumes, it will annoy you.0

Was it in a red/orange/white box ?
If so you may have one of an old batch. There are new versions of this model that come in blue/white boxes. The 'new' ones apparently don't have 'the hum'. Take it back and ask for a newer version ?0 -

Yes they do. I had an 'old' one and now have a 'new' one. They both hum exactly the same.
There is a fix, but it involves taking the back of the radio and changing the location of the power supply. Probably not something to do unless you are confident in your electrical abilities. Information here if anybody is interested - https://www.reciva.com/index.php?option=com_joomlaboard&Itemid=108&func=view&id=5434&catid=3&limit=6&limitstart=00 -
Always fancied one of these but would prefer stereo sound speakers0

Always fancied one of these but would prefer stereo sound speakers
All of these internet radios are based around the same core technology - http://corporate.reciva.com/products_and_technology/radio_products.asp
and I am not sure the sound quality would be much improved with stereo speakers. It really is in the kitchen portable area of HiFi quality.
In case it doesn't appear in the adverts, one of the best features I find with mine is that you can access all the BBC's "Listen Again" programs on it.0 -

I can only speak from experience and mine is 'silent'.0 -
Not disbelieving you, but is it absolutely silent in a room with no sound at all and with your ear a couple of inches away?0
