hiya, we are already doing this, just started recently. what we have done is used empty sauce jars with metal lids, hubby cut slots into the metal lids. we have 5, one for 1p's, 2p's, 5p's, 10p's and 20p's. makes it easier to sort out come counting time, and you can see it building up.

Id like to join aswell. I save all my coppers (and 5ps) in a piggybank anyway so this will give me something to aim for. Will start a new jar on july 1st.
Ill go for the lowest total as i dont think i will even make that but its worth a short and any money i do save is a bonus.Offical MSE Fantasy League Member:beer:0 -

Hi all
The updated list is below. immoral_angeluk, the names of the challenges dont have anything to do with what you save your money in, they are just names for the levels of cash that you are aiming to save in change. It doesnt matter what you save your change in, you could save it in a whiskey bottle but only be aiming for the piggybank level. so simply pick a level of money that you are aiming for and then start saving.
minniespender, I will do a weekly update, laid out like below with everyones weelky total as well as an overall total just to keep everyone updated.
and please remember that this challenge means you must save any coins that are 20p or lower, no spending them!!
Also, in previous posts I have been saying that the challenge starts on Monday, but Ive only just realised that Monday isnt the 1st, its the Sunday, so it will begin on sunday morning!

Hi Jaxx,
Please count me in for the Jam Jar Savings - thanks
I have a big stoneware vase which does the job! It's big enough to take the coin bags for the bank too - keeps me organised

I'm definitely up for this...I have my little pink piggybank from Pigsback which was emptied ages ago (actual Christmas I think) when I was saving for the £2 and 20p challenges. I think I got to about £40, not bad for me...I['m a serial dip into the bank person!!!;)
So that must mean I am up for the £100 Challenge!! Bring it ON!!!! :T
