Sunday-Pork & Crackling, Roasties, Yorkies, Carrots, Cabbage, Apple sauce, Peas & Gravy
Monday-Faggots, Mash, Carrots & Fresh Peas
Tuesday-Toad In Hole, Mash, Carrots and sweetcorn

Thursday-Shepherds Pie, Carrots & Cut Beans
Friday-HM FishPie, Peas and Cut Beans

So, what are you having?

Another week and another meal plan and I'm still doing well, DH had expected me to give up the OS lifestyle by now :p to him! But instead I've been so totally organised I've gone through the freezer and cupboards and done meal plans up until the 31st August! Don't know if that's a good or bad thing? I do have some emergency bits and bobs in and a few quick meals if life gets in the way of what's on the menu to avoid panic shops at Asda :)
With all the meat bargains I've got recently, I have all the meat needed for meals until 31st Aug which helps loads. This weeks menu is:-

Saturday – Chicken Korma, Pilau Rice, Sweet Potato & Onion Bhaji’s & Naans
Sunday – Roast Chicken, Roast Potatoes, Carrot & Swede, Peas, Stuffing & Gravy
Monday – Chinese Chicken Curry, Rice & Chips (Using leftover chicken from Sunday)
Tuesday – Fish Pie, Peas & Sweetcorn
Wednesday – Chicken, Bacon & Mango Salad with Herby Potatoes
Thursday – 4 Herb Pork Chops & Pan Fried Apples, Mash, Veg & Gravy
Friday – Sweet & Sour Pork, Egg Fried Rice & Prawn Crackers

Almost everything is HM except for the prawn crackers. The salad is from the garden and this weeks puds will be:-

    Lemon & Sultana Scones
    Lavender Biscuits
    Chocolate Orange Cake
Rhubarb Crumble/Pie (from own grown rhubarb)
    Coconut Biscuits
    Orange Choc Chip Cookies

And DH has requested a homemade syrup sponge pud with custard this weekend, so will get one of those done as well. I'm really enjoying cooking all my own meals, even if it does take a little more time, it tastes nicer, it's cheaper and healthier (until we eat the yummy baked goods that is :rotfl: )and it's also meant that life in chez herby is more organised and a little easier, and just from a little planning :A

Here's mine - have the meat bought already.

    Sat - out at inlaws
Sun - party here for DD2 so we'll all be eating party food!
Mon - toad in the hole
    Tues - pasta carbonara
    Wed - corned beef hash
Thurs - chicken legs in the slow cooker
Fri - we'll be camping, might just hit the chip shop!
Ali - still pretty much a newbie, need to brush up my MS habits!
  • Best meal planning I've seen yet:T . Love the variety. Am going to go through my freezors and store cupboard tonight and see how many meals I can plan with contents.

Thanks for your post  it's really got me motivated, had a rotten week with illness and staff issues and then today had to phone the vet to arrange to have one of my dogs put down. DS2's birthday on Father's day and want him there for the last time. He's got cancer and is starting to get in a bad way. Had to break it to rest of family and been a rather somber day.

Made my list of cleaning stuff I need ready for starting serious flylady work. I am going to take up the challenge and go for it. Have decided to have Monday afternoons off work to give me some extra time. You never know some time in the near future I may have to change my name by depoll to Kim or Aggie :rotfl:

Anyone know how to clean pans with copper bottoms. DS3 or DS2 managed to turn it black.

Going for a scan around other forums, see you all later.

Not a very imaginative plan for me this week....am so bored of having to think of what to cook, with the kids refusing to eat when I try anything different:mad:

    Here goes:

Sat - Tuna Napolitina (us) / HM Pizza (kids)

Sun - Roast chicken, mash, veg etc

Mon - Chicken, egg & chips

Tues - Macaroni cheese (kids) / Spag bol (us) - FROM FREEZER

Wed - Cheese & Potato pie with veg

Thu - Pasta, peas & bacon (didn't have last week)

Fri - Sausage, mash & veg

As you can see - not very imaginative, will try a bit harder next week!!
