Royal Mail

Options
Well yet again,Adam Crozier's employees have excelled themselves.

Let me explain........

I posted 2 cards to my mother, for mothers day, last friday,at 04.30am,at my local post office,on my way to work. Now bearing in mind,it is a main post office, and the first collection of the day,is at 06.30,and they are about every 3 hours until closing time, after that. (The shop opens at 9am.)

They were going from Ossett,in West Yorkshire,to Gateshead,a distance of some 100 miles, and they were stamped first class, and guess what????????

One arrived the next day,and the other is still missing!!!!!!!!

I could have walked there, and hand delivered them myself by now.

I have just fired off an e.mail to Mr.Crozier, the CEO,asking him what he intends to do about this particular link in the RM chain,as this is not the first time this has happened, and because you are paying for a non signed for service, you haven't a leg to stand on,but it would seem there is a theft problem here.

I have also asked him for a PERSONAL reply to my e.mail, rather than the monkey that will be under him,so we'll wait and see what happens.I have also included my mobile number, should he wish to discuss the problem further.

I'll keep you posted.

Ken.

    Update.

Within half an hour of sending the e.mail,I got a personal reply back from Adam Crozier, promising an investigation, into my alleged goings on,within the RM,and a promise of an update, once an internal investigation is complete.Fair play to him.

    I await with interest.

I sent a Nintendo Wii to Cornwall (Cambourne) on the 3rd of March by Standard Parcels with Enhanced compensation. 21st March still waiting for it to be delivered. I have phoned the sorting office in Cambourne and been to my local one in Shepshed (Leics) but no sign of it anywhere.

How do they manage to loose a box that was about 14" x 14" x about 5"

I think it has been nicked!!!

My Parents live in the West Indies, and a cousin sent them a christmas card that they recieved last month (she sent it in Nov), apparently it had ended up in Bangkok!!!
If you do get a reply i'll be very interested to know what he says. Did he give you a time limit for him to deal with your complaint???
I ask this because we have had 2 postpeople removed from doing our rounds, they would see a number and post without checking that it was the right road.
It got real serious because cheques and important documents were going astray.
My 1 complaint was'nt taken seriously, it was when 10 LONG roads, and one estate bombarded them with complaints, that any notice or action was taken!!!!

One postcard was slightly delayed (only a couple of days late at the time) and you emailed the CEO? Isn't that a bit of an overreaction? You must be very busy with your emails ;-)

I think a lot of posties subsibise their very poor pay with the odd tempting looking parcel/packet, I was returning a mobile phone casing to a shop using recorded delivery, it never arrived. 5 months later I am still battling Royal Mail for £26 compensation.

Even though the online tracking system says it's never been delivered, they assume it has, until proven otherwise! I think I could do with Mr Croziers email address.

    Biggles/Hollydays.

If you had bothered to read the original posting, this is not the first occasion that stuff has not been delivered,or has been delayed to my parents house.

I,as a customer, pay for a service, and as money changes hands, they enter into a contract to deliver the goods. If they fail to do so,or the item is delayed, then they have failed to meet the agreement, and I have a right to be peeved off about it.As someone who has been involved in the transportation of goods, all of my life, (I'm 42) I think I know the ins and outs of a failed agreement.

If you went into a shop, and bought something, and it failed to work after a couple of days, what would you say? 'Oh,it doesn't matter, and I won't bother to complain about the lack of service.' Somehow I think you WOULD complain about it.

If no-one bothers to write to these companies about shoddy service, then they don't realise their shortcomings, and nothing gets done.

    Mr.Croziers e.mail address is:adam.crozier@royalmail.com

    His reply:

    Dear Ken
Many thanks for your note and apologies for the problems
you seem to have had with our service.
I have asked Steve Cameron, our operations director for the north and
    Scotland, to look
into this and get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to write.
    Kind Regards
    Adam

I think you are very mistaken.

As with any job, you get a small number who steal things from work, but the majority of posties are hard working individuals who take a pride in their job.

I wouldn't say the pay was very poor either
Here I go again on my own....
