FREE or CHEAP Hotels from Easyjethotels.com - POST YOUR FINDS HERE

Welcome to this thread after the "free barcelona hotel loopyhole" became too long. Please post any success stories on here including the dates etc so others can bag a deal too.
If you are new to all this, let me explain.
Easyjethotels offer a double the difference guarantee if you book with them but find the same room cheaper on another website (subject to the website meeting the terms and conditions). Websites like travelrepublic.co.uk, find-rooms.com, hotelopia.com, octopustravel.com do qualify.
To find an instant hotel bargain run a search on https://www.hotelscomparison.com and where you see Hotelopia (the name behind easyjethotels) far dearer you may be onto something.
Remember the room description must be exact i.e. double/twin standard and with or without breakfast. Some sites like Venere.com, Bookings.com do not qualify.
If you have any questions please ask on the sister thread. This thread is for posting deals only to allow MSE'rs the chance for a cheap or even free hotel stay.

Do you not think there is something a little bit dishonest about scrutinising and abusing a scheme intended to ensure competitiveness to cause a company to lose money by providing free accommodation?
Or is that just me!
I wonder how long before the offer is pulled by them?0 -

This Company wants the paying public to believe it is the cheapest by giving this guarantee. It has been proved time after time that they are not cheap and in fact, on occasions very expensive. How can they justify charging £908 for a 4* hotel for 4 nights B&B and a competitor charges £490 for exactly the same package ? This is just one of many examples so they will either change their prices or drop the guarantee.
I have booked three holidays for a total of £86 and do not feel I am acting dishonest. Take advantage whilst it is available.

Personally, I think that Price Promises are a lazy way for companies to charge higher prices whilst we do the legwork. The only way to get 'free' accomodation is if Easyjethotels charges more than TWICE the amount that a competitor charges for exactly the same room. As I understand it, they are only an agent for the hotel, there is no actual 'work' on their part, so I assume the inflated price is pure profit.
Presumably, some people don't do their homework, or trust that a price guarantee means cheap prices, and the Easyjet label equates to value, and would pay the inflated amount. Therefore the huge profit margins of EJH are, to me, and I assume most MoneySavers, the dishonest thing about this thread.
I hope it remains, as I rather like seeing the world (or at least the bit that EasyJet flies to!) in an MSE way!0 -

The company gain in 2 ways out of this.
Firstly people will book simply because of the guarantee and many won't do loads of checking so increased business.
Also if there ARE cheaper offers out there then they are getting their market research for free.
Personally I have no qualms about taking advantage of this sort of thing because essentially they are taking advantage of the public by doing it and making plenty of money into the bargain.
If a business doesn't want to offer something then they shouldn't offer it.
It's up to them to do "due dilligence" on anything they offer.
They are a business after all.0 -
And another thing about the morals of this thread - I would interpret their 'one claim per month' limit (see their t&cs) as a tacit admission that, once discovered, people will make full use of the policy, and find it quite easy to find very overpriced accomodation on their website.0

Sambee,
I consider myself fortunate financially that I can afford lots of breaks every year, but there are some families or couples desperate for a break that deals like this could be the difference between going on holiday or staying at home. In life i think the majority of people spend their lives at work or thinking about it and thus denying their family or other half the best of themself.
If Easyjet didnt charge over the odds for the majority of their hotels (and i am seeing an average overcharge of £50) they wouldnt have any claims. It would be far cheaper for them to employ a team to check prices constantly (im free if you are reading this easyjethotels!) than to shell out on the claims.
Besides as they are holding masses of money for months on end don't think they arent making a fortune on interest as well.0 -
Just booked the NH Podium in Barcelona for 22 - 26 April. £921 on EJH, £452 on Holiday Nights. It's a 4* hotel that looks nice in the reviews etc - even better when it's free.........
I emailed EJH with the claim at about 10.30 pm, got the automated reply ata about 11.30 pm, and another reply at about 1.40 am saying it was okay, and had been forwarded to Head Office for final approval.
All painless and straightforward from my point of view (assuming, of course, it's finally approved!).0 -

I AM NOT A TRAVEL AGENT!!!!
But if I was a Travel Agent I would certainly worry that I was being undercut by Easyhotels providing free accommodation through an unintentional loophole, thus depriving travel agents of an opportunity to be competitive! Who do you think (apart from Easyhotels) is actually losing out on this?
And I certainly can't stand rip-off Britain big businesses, and have no qualms with Easy Group providing free accomodation for people on this board.
I think you misinterpret where I'm coming from.
I'm just a believer that generally you get what you pay for. I am wary of 'fiddles' of systems, no matter if they are loopholes. Just because it's possible doesn't mean it's right.
But I do believe as above people have said, Easyhotels are very lazy, they should be running better price comparisons with other sites.
As I said, just wanted to know if I was the only one that feels uneasy about this. Obviously so!0
