[CLOSED] Sainsbury's own brand cereals multibuy mis-scan

Hi,
Don't know if this is specific to the Whitley Bay branch but Sainsbury's are currently doing a 'Buy 2 for £2' on a selection of their own cereals, not sure exactly which ones other than the 'Malties' that I bought today (their version of Shreddies).
They were £1.24 each so at 2 for £2 the multibuy saving should have been 48p, but on checking the receipt I saw that the multibuy saving was £1.76 making each box of Malties 36p. I then checked last week's receipt and found the same had happened then as well (blowed if I know how I missed that).
HTH someone.
Bubba
Official insert: The success rate on this deal is rather hit and miss. It's now working for some and not for others. If you normally buy these cereals anyway please reply to this thread to et us know if it worked for you.
Another MoneySaver has mentioned some stores have "Son of the Mask" competition leaflets with 30p coupons off some of these cereals

So pleased I live in Whitley Bay and shreddies are my favourite cereal!!0

Seems like it may be a national thing.
Just tried the Oxford branch and found that
Frosted Flakes and Cornflakes both did the same.0 -
Thanks for this, it's definitely national as my local one in London has just done the same, box of Malties and large box of rice pops for the bargain price of 46p per box ! I'm going to go back and stock up later :-)

Great post -- and don't forget to pick up Son of the Mask comp leaflet which has 30p coupons off some of these cereals!0

Yep - Keighley branch doing the same also. I bought Frosted Flakes and Wheaties - but the Wheaties were the best value because it knocked of the same amount for both cereals but the Wheaties themselves were actually cheaper.
Infact the particularly astute cashier noticed the offer and worked out in her head how much they cost - "wow" she said "thats a bargain!" said she was gonna buy loads tonight!!!
So thanks and well spotted Bubba!!!Total for 2009: L'Oreal Lip Duo, Diary, Motability Guide
Thanks to everyone who post comps - you are all :cool2:0 -
Aberdeen Garthdee branch also got the same error. Cheers for the tip.0

Top tip esalan - that would make them virtually free - where can I find these leaflets?
Thanks.Total for 2009: L'Oreal Lip Duo, Diary, Motability Guide

Hi Leylauk -- the leaflets are blue/green, A5 size (half of A4!) and in my local store are in a dispenser next to the '2 for £2' signs. You really can't miss them. There's two 30p off coupons on the back of the comp leaflet but I think the closing date is pretty soon (April 4 or 7?). Hope you find them OK.0

I will try the Cornwall branch later, sounds great. Talking of sainsbury I had a 'one off ' last week. They had reduced large pork Joints (4lb) to £1.25 p per kilo....The checkout boy scanned them through as £1.25p each....ha.... Cheap meat for the next few weekends.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0
