Default what is the hilton price rate promise?

i'm not really sure where this should go but..

I'm about to book a uk hilton hotel for 1 night, i've found a site that offers the same room at 1/2 the price of going to hilton direct.
I've found blurb about a rate promise on the hilton website, it tells me how to claim, but not what the promise actually is. (though there is a seperate promise that seems to exclude uk hotels)

I'm thinking of the days inn promotion that gave us all free rooms if we found a cheaper deal so it might be worth booking the dearer hilton direct for that - hoping someone knows/can tell me where to find the hilton rate promise (freebie!) details, or even an e-mail i can ask them directly (only finding phone number and would prefer it in writting).

Question where did you find your cheaper Hilton room by the way ?

i booked this last night, not through hilton direct,
i've checked again just now - and the hilton site has dropped it's prices to the agent site.

i found expedia & travelsupermarket had a prices lower than the hiltons own, a few other sites i can't remember the name of - but there seemed to be loads of sites with lower prices than hilton direct.
