Where can you get one?
If you've a branch of Poundland near you it's selling 9-in-1 universal remote controls for.... you guessed it - £1. They're available nationwide and the head office says it has 36,000 in stock so they shouldn't run out too soon.

I don't know if it is the same one but I bought a UET609 model from Poundland and it works great when I heeded to repalce the remote for my Hitachi tv. The only gripe I have is that the Hitachi codes given were not correct and I had to manually go through all the codes before finding the right one. Luckily I only had to try about 15 and now it works perfect. Amazing value when you think how much these universal remotes cost only a few years ago0

Does anyone know if they can be used as DVD remote for the older PS2's?
Thanks!0 -
Older PS2s didn't have a built in IR receiver, so you would have to buy one before any brand of IR remote would work.0

Bought one of these just about a month ago. It never worked no matter what I did.I just figured I had thrown away just a £1.00 as I could not justify going back to the shop just to claim my money back or an exchange.Do you make things happen, watch things happen, or just wonder, what happened?0

I bought one of these about 2-3 months ago. Works great on
TV and two videorecorders . Basic control on dvd player.
Great for £1.00.0 -

I've got one of these and they are excellent, well worth buying even if you buy it and put it away in a drawer for if you lose or break a remote control. Great fun can also be had if you take the remote control to pubs etc and control their TV!!Wycombe Till I Die0
