Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sat 16/12/06. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone
Happy Birthday Nelski

dd's christmas play yesterday was lovley she did her dance very well along with the others

(((((((((hugs)))))))))))) Taplady - my thoughts are with you.
Up early to try and cheer the cricket boys onalthough it looks like AussieLass will be keeping the Ashes, I am hoping that my secret plan will mean that we regain them in 2 summers time
Well I am working all weekend, but then only have to do 4 days next week and then not back to work till the 28th :j :j Never had that long off for Xmas before, can't believe it. Just updated my spending chart and need to have a low spending rest of the year, think I should manage it as no more xmas parties, all prezzies bought so fingers crossed the £20 I have will last till new year. OH is buying Xmas lunch food ( that was well planned ).
Off tomake my pack up, need to come home to do the ironing, wrap some more prezzies and do some college work before an early night as OH is coming down with man flu
Have a great day, ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))) to alll who want , need, just would like

having a quiet coffee before I brave the shops. Intend to be there for them opening!
my efforts at an OS christmas tree has failed. I had planned to use last years tree which was in a big tub in the garden. with all the rain we have had it was too wet to bring in....until last night. Brought it in and put it on the table. looks really green and bushy from the top ...but the underneath is all dead and brown looking. So my husband went to get our old fibre optic one from the attic - the base was broken
it was 8 years old though
so hopefully there are some bargains in the christmas tree department today.
we put the real tree at the front door and put some of the old tatty tinsel on it. not sure if it will last long out there but the tinsel was only fit for the bin really.x x x0 -

Morning all!
Happy Birthday to Nelski!
Woke up early this morning, but I do feel refreshed. DH has an interview for a new job that he reeeeeeeeeeeealy wants on Wednesday, so he's been awake most of the night, with it preying on his mind. He's shattered, so I've left him in bed. Will go with a cup of tea soon, as one of us needs to take the children to swim club. They were out at the ball last night, and I normally would leave them to sleep, but it's the last swim and they have gifts for the tutors.
DH is taking me to the pics tonight. We have a babysitter, who's also a daughter of some good friends. The children love her, which is reciprocated, and they all have a great time.
Pile of presents to send this morning, but I can leave that to DH as football is cancelled due to the state of the pitch. DD and I are carol singing with the choir in Selby, so we're out for most of the morning. I have onion soup in the Rayburn for when we're home.
Edit, Happy Annivesary to Mr and Mrs Tru!
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning all!!
Hope you are all well this morning.
Raining and cold here too, ds3 footy match also called off due to state of pitch but because dh is manager he still has to go up to collect the presents the league has for the kids.
Hoping ds1 match will be called off tommorw as its a 10 oclock ko somewhere miles away, means leaving home at 8.30!!
Plans for today, a full sweep of the house cleaning wise, then make list with dh ( dont seems to see him to talk to for any lengh of time until the weekend) of all the final things we need to get and sort out.
Washing needs to be done and sorted ready for monday, as tommorow night we are off to a bowling party with the parents from my eldest sons footy team.
Have a great day everyone!

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Tru:j :j :j :j
Well DD is back safe and sound:D She bought me a hugs box of Lindt choccies and were poshly wrapped. They had visited a Lindt factory and there one of my fav chocs:rolleyes: She had a great time and is now fast asleep in bed as she got in at 5am. OH is snoring on the sofa. Ive told him to go to bed
Had a great day yesterday. Went to the cinema and watch De Ja Vu....very good! Then we had a lovely time round nephews and new wife for indian take away. It was lovely food and fab company. She is only 18, so have her many tips on money saving and food shoping, cooking etc-but they seem quite frugal anyway...which is excellent.
Today, I have 2 washloads to do which is mainly bedding. I have averaged 5 loads this week with the bigger machine, so have saved roughly 3 loads so far on normal stuff. DW needs going on later and toilet has been cleaned.
OH is putting the new tiebacks up in the lounge and the curtains/nets have definitely made a difference in warmth. Think he is also wiring the teddy cabinets up, so we can have them on a timer each night.
I must crack on with my second essay and get it off ASAP.
Got some pork and apple sausages out the freezer last night and am doing a sausage cassarole with a ton of veg in it (carrots, swede, leeks, peas, sweetcorn, tin beans, onion etc) and will do mash with it. Have also got out a pizza if DD fancies that for lunch
Breakie: Bacon & Egg
Lunch: Pizza or baked spud
Dinner: Sausage Cassarole & Mash
Anyway, I must go. Hugs to all.
