Thanks for this seth. This seems a good deal particularly when you read the exceptional reviews. I have gone ahead and ordered. Slightly nervous ordering from ebuyer as they get plenty of negative press - have never used them before. Anyway, fingers crossed.

One thing of note is that although they say that delivery is free, there was actually a shipping supplement of £18 to pay. Still a good deal when you compare to others though.

Thanks again. Will report back when all is up and running.

I bought the Super Flat Philips TV from ebuyer, just before christmas. It's a nice tv. Good sound, has a funky 3d sound thing from 2 speakers, but I find it great, especially when watching DVD's. :D
It was £199.99 when I got it. £242.75 it came to in all. So the real flat option is a great price! :)

To get free delivery on Ebuyer you usually need to select "Super Saver Delivery" option.

I've used them for a few years and never had any problems, always prompt delivery (except on one occasion when for some reason the delivery people tried the wrong address twice - I couldn't blame Ebuyer for that though) and always exactly what I ordered, as I ordered, and at a ridiculously low price. Of course the complaints about them all appear to be with poor after sales service and complaint handling, so I've never had to deal with that side of it yet.

    Thanks dccarm.

I did do this, but it still adds on the supplement unfortunately.

I noticed one of the reviewers also mentioned this, so I guess its a standard thing :( .

It does have free delivery but has an £18 "delivery surcharge" !

    How does that work?

It does seem strange. I've sent them an enote to ask them to confirm why they advertise this as having free delivery when clearly it isn't free. I'll post back their response as and when.

Even with the £18 added on it is still a good deal cheaper than other suppliers who are selling this delivered for upwards of £320-330.

why they advertise this as having free delivery when clearly it isn't free.

I expect it's because of the weight of the item, but even so, if they advertise free delivery then there should be no surcharges on that at all. Otherwise the delivery isn't free and they are misleading you by encouraging you to buy with a promise that they subsequently don't fulfil.
  • I too was quite annoyed when I got the shipping surcharge, but went ahead and ordered anyways.
The cabinet is a nice'un too. :) Ours has glass shelves.

    My TV
    My TV 2

Excuse the fuzzy speakers n'stuff, took pics at too high a resolution, and it looks odd being shrunk!

    Yep. :(
    I paid:

Shipping method: Super Saver at £6.60

    Net total: £206.59
    VAT total: £36.16
    Gross total: £242.75

But like I said, it's a top tv, and with the cabinet, which we were going to pay £60-£90 alone for (Not as nice either, didn't have glass shelves where we looked!).
I'm pleased as punch with the tv. :D:p
