Monthly Bank Charges??????

Just wondering if you can claim back the monthly charges the bank has made on an account? Is £7 per month and covers things like phone insurance, a free home car start etc. Have never used these and wasnt explained that this would be incurred at the opening of the account. Have only recently (last 6 months) had it stopped after threatening them with ombudsman. So was wondering if you can claim these back aswell?? Any help??

If it's a service charge then no. If it was applied without your knowledge, you need to take it up with the bank, but it's not a penalty charge issue.0

On a related note, I wonder if all the people affected by the £10 per month charge issued by FD on low earners can recoup their charges on the basis that they are punitive ???
Just a thought ...0 -
Any chance you can claim back the above, ... been (charged monthly) going on since account opened and wasnt explained what for, turned out to be phone insurance, card cover etc. Only managed to get it stopped after threatening ombudsman.0
