Nintendo's interestingly named console, the 'Wii' launches on the 8th December and many places have started taking preorders.
So, does anyone know of the best price or bundle for the Nintendo Wii?

Have only seen just the normal posters in my local shops saying the launch date and price of £179.99
I remember someone saying on the forum that a shop was giving a free copy of Zelda away when you pre-ordered the wii, think it may have been gamestation but you might need to do a search for "wii threads" on the forum to double check0 -
Argos are doing pre-orders, buy the Wii at £179.99 and get £10 off any game.
Or pick two games and save £20.
Also doing Wii and pick game called "Super Fruitfall" this gets the game for £14.99 instead of the £29.99. Making package total £194.98.
Mind you need to pay postage. As item is for home delivery at present. But the offers go on till 19th January.
Not bad offers but not much better out there at the moment.0 -
Yeah, We'll have to keep an eye out.
Thanks guys, please post if you see any more!0 -
I have pre-ordered from Argos, they have already debited my credit card with the full amount for delivery from 8th december. I guess if they dont get enough units to meet demand they will eventually refund the amount to my card.
Gamestation were taking £20 deposit on the Wii but couldn't guarantee availability for release day.0 -
Game are taking also taking preorders and are concentrating on package deals as usual, its £20 deposit and you can use your game card so you end up with 5-10 gift voucher for your next game.0

I put this on hotukdeals but will repeat it here. The best INSTORE offer is HMV IMHO. It may come back to bite be but heres how:
Pre-order from HMV for £30. You get a game card that will give you enough for £15 (or thereabouts) off a game.
Get the HMV store card the week before its released and when you pay on the card you get 10% off, making the console + sports for £162.09 (less £30 deposit of course making it easier to pay for in December!)
You then have £15 or thereabouts off a game- only if you preorder though!
Of course you then have the store card with 10% off any purchace for 12 weeks!
HTHBeing bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
Woah, nice!0

Just to clarify, do you get the game card automatically when you preorder the wii or do you have to ask for it?0

Nintendo's interestingly named console, the 'Wii'
Up my neck of the woods its pronounced Wi Aye0 -
I just phoned a HMV in Manchester and was redirected to the video games people (which I assume is a different phone in the same store).
No game card was mentioned but the guy didn't seem very knowledgable. He did say, however, that they haven't recieved any numbers from Ninty yet (wikipedia says 4 million consoles worldwide buy the end of 2006, with US being the priority).
He couldn't guarantee getting the console on it's release date, or by Christmas, or this year. He also said they intend to do bundles on release but they don't know what yet.
The store I spoke to have 80 preorders so far.0
