Master to do lists

OK,

Feeling inspired I decided to create a master to do list (well a spreadsheet) that I can add to and check things off as done so I can see that I am doing things. :D

Basically rather than posting the whole spreadsheet I’ll give you an idea and hopefully people can comment, let me know if I’ve missed anything or post your own master lists so we can all get ideas from each other.

The spreadsheet headings are: Task, Who, Deadline, Category, Completed, Period (i.e. once every month), Notes, One Off, Recurring (tick boxes so I can see if it’s a one off or recurring task), Additional Notes (E.G) Last Date Done.

So I’ll start….my to do list as it stands, minus some stuff that is just a little to personal :o

Go and lie down after reading your list and realising just how disorganised/slovenly I am.......

I wish I could be as organised as you.

ive got a little notebook which is basically one big, long, continuous to do list.

i figured there was no point making a spreadsheet/master list, because its not very often that the items on my list are reoccuring, more one-offs.

its actually quite motivating though - its nice to be able to say ive completed a page :D

My Mother makes handwritten lists and always starts with one or two chores that she has already done and crosses them through. Apparently it makes her feel that she has already achieved something.

Yep. That's the problem with lists - unless you are in charge... they are!

Mostly though, to be honest, if you write the list, and you cross things off... then you are the boss.

Certainly a written list is better than a memorised one. We have a tendency to go over a list again and again in our minds (or in my case - what passes for a mind) and so "feels" a whole lot longer than it is. Writing that list of things down leads many of us to discover that the list isn't really that long at all.

Since we write the list - then we are in charge of what goes on it, what order it is and what priority it has. Then we decide to do it, and we cross it off.

Doncha just lurve being the boss? chuckle.gif

    hi tinkerbelluk

WOW!!! that is some list, what i tend to do is a list everyday, for example. if going to tesco, shopping list, but if want something else from shop near tesco's that goes on my list, or it could be post parcels etc,

so i have a lot of mini lists, all the time!!

Did you feel better once you'd got all that on paper? Some good ideas there too, thanks for doing it !
I really think I need to do this. I read something, somewhere (as you do) about how you should do all those jobs that take 2 minutes as soon as you think of them, get them out of the way, clears the way for the time consuming stuff .
Taking Squeakys and Jo.D's comments on board too have to stay in control, unlike the battle with the ironing, it really does have control !
    Will start mine ..sooon

    I like that idea! :)
I'm a list maniac - my dad used to ask if I had a list of all my lists :rotfl:
  • DD has a huge Tinkerbell case from the states full of pins. Dread to think the costs if we added them up. She's talking about ebaying them as many are now collectables and they are mad for them in the states:confused:

I agree with Edinburghlass...do the Dolphin tour...its fab!

If you can change up dollars at the moment you would be getting an excellent exchange rate. It went to 1.91 in the last 2 weeks:eek:

    When are you off?

BTW-I couldnt cope without lists....Im a list freak too!!
