oh no its not, i do it too. makes tasks seem much more managable, and its more of an achievement when you cross them off :)

  • I know what people are saying about the list getting out of control but I must admit I felt so much better writing it all down and then setting myself deadlines to complete certain things. The way I'm going to look it is that this is the start and then I can add or remove once things are done.

Jo - I agree I think writing the list and adding everything (well look I've written decide what clothes airer to buy!) means that my head is just a little clearer so I can see the wood for the trees. Also I think that by adding the deadlines it means I don't do all the easy little jobs first, I have to wait for them to come around :D

Edinburghlass / Penny-Pincher!! - If you have any more info on the dolphin tour that would be great.

Penny-Pincher!! - We're going on the 21st and to be honest we're not doing the parks this year (well I say that now) as we've been 7 times in the last 5 years! I was lucky with the dollar and managed to exchange last week at a rate of $1.91 so I was well chuffed :T :T In terms of the pins, I'm quite a big collector anyway but am in the process of deciding if I want to keep on doing it so hence why the question is on the list. If your daugher is stuck with the value side of things let me know and I can always point her in the right direction.

Assuming its the new Behind the Scenes at the Dolphin Nursery Tour at Seaworld, its a lovely hour and money well spent. The first half hour is spent with a Seaworld Guide who chats to you about dolphins and their habitat and then the Seaworld dolphins.

Second half hour you go through to the nursery pool with three trainers and your group of 10 is split into three smaller groups and you move from trainer to trainer. Each trainer is playing with different dolphins and depending on what dolphins are in the nursery pool you get to feed them and with the adult ones you can do tricks with them. On our tour we had a pregnant mum that the trainer got to show us her tum and told us about the pregnancy, we had two babies that we could feed and play with and one adult dolphin that the trainer had us doing tricks with. (as per the photo links I pm'd you).

A seaworld photographer is on the public side of the pool taking photographs of the group, we weren't actually aware of this until after but the Seaworld guide also took my camera and took some lovely shots of us feeding the dolphins.

  • Kazonline, tinkerbelluk - I too shop in Asda Coryton!!

I also am one of those psople that like to make lists, unfotunatley mine seem to be on the back of envelopes and the such, which invariably get lost / scribbled on by my LO.

I am considering investing in a shiny new pad in order to make lists, since we sold our house today - Yipee!!! We had already had an offer accepted on the new house we are moving to, but thought we ight have to take out a second mortgage as bridging finance since our sale had fallen through...wasn't looking forward to that swallowing our savings....

I have a very brief daily list along the lines of
    -washing out
    -ironing
    -phonecalls-
etc etc and then I also make a quarterly list of extra stuff I want to get done on the house which is pinned to my notice board now that I'm no longer in the position to pay a man to come in and do it for me so for this quarter it's been
    -paint garage floor
    -repaint gate
    -repaint shed
    -repaint garage door
    -redo paintwork around front door.
I try to keep it realistic and manageable otherwise I adopt the scattergun approach and start lots of things and don't finish anything!! I've done all the jobs save for the last two but then I've got until the end of Sept:D
I shall have another ponder beginning of October although other than sticking a few bulbs in the garden most of my time allocated to jobs will be sorting out Christmas and making inroads into redoing the kitchen which is still currently at the planning stage.

I have a Moleskine (favourite of Hemmingway, and couldn't be without mine!)diary with a blank page per week, which I have used as a list keeper!

Each week, I write my tasks in as they come to me, first week I write them in blue, if not done by the second week, I put them in green, and by the third week (!) they are in red. I don't like to see them all in red, so it pushes me to get them done! Ensures that the list is kept small as too much stresses me!!

I also have a little space on the page for personal stuff - e.g. shopping lists, etc, and expenses - work trips, petrol to be claimed. I keep a little address book in the back. All my work and home stuff is in there, so I only ever need to carry the one little book around for lists, dates, and info! Works for me......
