I upgraded in April 06 to a W810i, great phone, well happy with it.

Tarriff given Select 750 anytime crossnet. mins £35
1000 texts for 18months
Free orange car 12months
along with keeping my Orange weekend for £5 and my Line2
on Everyday 50, about £10 per month.

All in all very happy, was speaking to Orange Customer Services,(The Newcastle Call centre!!) about another matter when I asked when my next upgrade was due, was told I am due one now. SHOCKED, so I was put through to upgrades. Stated I only wanted a 12month contract what can you offer me, and was offered the Sony K800i for £49.99.

Said I would think about this. Now my question is What phone should I go for, or is there any good ones due out shortly? I also have another Orange phone on the Virgin OVP so its like updating that phone very early.

Comments invited please folks: - and no smart !!!!!! ones saying leave Orange cos I am well happy with my tariff.

Many thakns

Just called Orange and said I wanted to cancel due to better deals elsewhere - quoted SE K800i on O2 with 1000 xnet mins and 150 texts for £35/mth. Girl said she doubted they could match that deal, but would see if they could offer me anything close, then came back with 2550 xnet mins and unlimited texts for £35/mth with the SE K800i for £4.99!!! :D

    SORTED!
    I love a nice juicy "kebab"... ;)
  • It's a good deal if you're going to use the 2800 minutes/month (average 93mins day) and you're happy to have that phone for a 18 months (year and a half).

You should try and ask for a 12 month contract as a little extra. I agree with the post above - 18 months is a bit too long in case anything goes wrong with the phone after a year.

Due my Orange upgrade today. My tariff is Orange Everyday 50 (50 off peak minutes to landlines and other orange mobiles per day) which costs £15 per month.

I called Orange up as I wanted the Orange SPV M600. I was first quoted £99.99 for the handset! I told them no and that I'd like to disconnect from Orange. I was then passed to 'Customer Relations', who knocked £60 off straight away!

So annoying that I have to threaten to quit before I get offered a half decent deal.
