Very, especially if you have a raised cupboard with a nice dark airspace underneath!
Unfortunately I generally use a very expensive pet carpet cleaner which my parents bought about 12 years ago. It doesn't happen very often = )Tim0 -
Pull out the bed and look in the wardrobes ASAP. If there isn't anything in the litter tray, then it's been doing it elsewhere.
As for removing the smell. I'm sure someone has an OS method involving bicarb of soda or vinegar they can share with you.0 -
Vinegar - preferably the clear one - mixed about 50/50 with warm water - soak the patch (when you find it :eek: ) and dab dry with some kitchen roll. If it's still pongy - repeat!:j £2 coin saver club £52 :j

What I use for puppies is bio washing powder solution after you've cleaned/soaked up as much as possible, let it dry, then spray with white spirit or surgical spirit (white vinegar will work at a pinch, but your 'boudoir' will smell like a chippie
)
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Do you have any pot plants? our kittens were very partial to them i remember one christmas we had to throw out the tree on boxing day as they killed it off by peeing in it! make sure you take the kitten to the box everytime you feed it to get in in the way of going to the box and if you notice it scraping at the carpet then put it straight into the box. Carpet cleaner and a brush is what we tend to use for spills ousts a bit pricey but a good spray for getting rid of the smells. Cats dont like citrus so if you do find deposits once cleaned spray some lemon juice on the area to discourage them going back im not sure if rubbing their noses in it works an old wives tale and a bit cruel. remember to request your free kittten pack from felix and whiskas from the freebees thread good luck!Official DFW nerd 206 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Be grateful if it is on the carpet - after holding it all in for 48 hours, our little one weed and pooed on DH's chest while he was asleep!The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

Suggest that it might be better to confine said kitty to one small space or room for a few days to make sure that the litter tray stuff is being done in the right place - poor wee mite - I am sure you will find it in some small dark corner - after a week or so it will be much better. Yes they dont like citrus smells so even a cut lemon in the corner they decide to go in......... We bought a covered in litter tray - its magic for when they decide its too wet to go outside. Little blighters but I love them to death!Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

thanks to everyone for their helpful tips. I have stripped the said room and found a nice dollop of cat pooh hiding behind a desk!!.So i have washed it up and am going to put some lemon juice there to see if it stops it happening again. Also in the last few minutes daisy has pooed in her litter tray so the house is a bit smelly but hopefully will disappear soon. and when i went to check on the kitten recently she and our dog rio were cuddling up on the same couch!!0

If you use dried cat food there is far less smell from the poo0

We used to have a cat called Daisy - lovely name. Biological washing powder is the best to clean it up as the enzymes digest the protein. If the cat keeps going back to the same area and the wash powder hasn't worked - your pet shop will have a propietary cleaner that will help.0
