Warning! This offer is in the weekly email which goes to 640,000 people, sometime when companies are hit by such a truck load of deman, they close down such deals, so always check this specific offer is still listed.
What's the deal?
Screenselect an online DVD rental company, are giving away a free tenner when you sign up for a free trial, via this specific link www.screenselect.co.uk/freetenner/ and best of all you don't actually have to pay anything to get the trial; you can cancel if you don't want to carry on with the subscription.
Signing up
To get your free tenner, simply go to screenselect and sign up for the free trial, which last for 5 DVDs or 21 days, whichever ends first.
You will have to enter your credit card details but provided you cancel before the trial expires you won't get charged a penny. Unfortunately if you have signed up for a screenselect (or any scheme that uses screenselect such as Video Island, MSN Rental, Tesco Rental, EasyCinema and ITV Movie Club) trial you won't be eligible for the offer.
T's and C's
The free trial must begin on or before 30 September. To qualify for the free tenner, you must fully complete the registration process and not cancel before the first DVD is dispatched. The cheque will be dispatched to the account address within 5 days of the registration.
Credit cards will be automatically billed for the montly subscription fee based on the package you chose at registration unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Remember you will be charged if you don't cancel the direct debit in time.
What if I like the service?
Then there's no need to cancel, you get the tenner and are subscribed to screenselect. For much more info on the different online DVD rental offers available though read DVD Rental: The Cheapest Online Providers and How To Tart Free

Back to the original post.......
All, I've found another Screen Select DVD Rental offer that may be of interest to you. This was advertised on the small bill boards in the gents toilets at a local shopping centre, just goes to show you need your eye's open all the time when saying money! Scroll to the bottom and read the T&C's as it's not as flexible as the free DVD voucher they did before. Number 5 states - To qualify for your £10 cheque, customers must fully complete the registration process and not cancel before their first DVD rental dispatch. Whether that's true or not is a different matter because I never matched any of the pervious requirements to get the FREE DVD vouchers and if fact my registration failed but they still sent me the vouchers. Try here - http://www.screenselect.co.uk/freetenner/ PS: Of course you'll need to use genuine name to be able to cash the cheque and I suspect address to actually receive the cheque. And certainly a very good deal for anybody wanting to try a different dvd company.
Regards,
Dave

When you register and are encouraged to choose up to 20 desired titles to improve the chances of your titles being available, ONLY CHOOSE FIVE.
I recently took out a similar promo but after returning my first 3 titles (which included a gripe that two of the discs were freezing due to surface dirt) they immediately sent out another 3, eleven days into the twenty day free trial thereby ending the trial prematurely and charging a subscription fee.
When I questioned this process (at length) they suggested that if I didn't want to receive a sixth disc I should have returned only two of the initial three discs!?!
Hope you guys are smarter than I was.0 -
You need to add at least 10 to complete the registration correctly. Do what I do, select 10 and when the first two have been shipped simply cancel the remaining 8 (if you just what the voucher) plus then cancelling the account when the 2 DVD's are returned safely. Otherwise cancel 4 this leaving you with another 4 to come. Don't forget that if you do only select 5/6 as a max and they are popular DVD's then you might not get any due to the demand!Regards,
Dave

Don't forgot you get 12.50 if you do it through quidco instead. You also get a 30 day unlimited trial (a code should already be in the box when you go through quidco). The free trial is fantastic - I have had 9 movies so far and 7 of them have been my top choice newish releases!
Just remember to clear your selection, THEN send back your last movies on day 25ish, THEN cancel so they do not have a chance to charge you for the next month! They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -

So you select 10 titles but your trial is up when they send you your 6th disk...could they send you 6 disks in one go?"Debt makes plans for you" - A quote from my friend Catherine. How true!0 -
And if you decide you like the service and want to continue, cancel you subscription anyway, and re-join via Tescos web site, you'll find its a couple of quid cheaper a month.
Tesco OEM their service from ScreenSelect, check out the 2 web sites and you'll see its the same company0 -

David_B wrote:Noting that you'll need to change your name, address and e-mail that you registered before canceling becuase you wou't be able to re-join with the same details at Tesco if Screen Select are running the service. I've not checked the Tesco service but I'll be surprised it if it does not state this in the T&C's.
Yes, you can join again after leaving screenselect. They would never say no to paying customers. I think what you mean is you cannot have the free trial again. But you can join Tesco to save a few quid a month like the other post suggests. They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -

They are 'powered' by the same system but both companies have a different allocation of disks from the big warehouse. ScreenSelect has more choice i believe and a higher turn around (as more copies of each disk). Tesco is also supposed to have very poor CS.They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -

No - i believe disks are limited to 3 at once, just like with the monthly service. So I would choose 10, get 3. Then send 2 back after watching and get disks 4&5. Now clear your online selection and send the other 3 back and cancel your account before they send another disk (which they shouldnt as you have none on your list). They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
