Hi I am just about to use up the last of The Body Shops "Sugaring" which I have had for ages.
I have just found this recipie to make it yourself!
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
cornstarch
clean cloth cotton strips
wooden stick or spreader
Dust the area to be waxed, with cornstarch. Combine the first three ingredients in a clean glass bowl, and microwave for two minutes. Stop and stir your sugar mixture every 20-30 seconds. Let it cool to a comfortable warmth, and, using a wooden stick, spread a very thin layer onto your clean skin. Immediately cover the mixture with a strip of cotton fabric. Briskly stroke the strip several times in the direction of the hair growth, and then, pull the skin taut, and quickly rip away the cotton strip, against the direction of hair growth. As you proceed, you may need to reheat your sugar mixture in the microwave to keep it warm. Do not boil it or overheat as you could easily burn your skin.

Oooh me too.always find waxing far too messy. i end up with it everywhere!!!0 -
 iooooh
I bought a wax kit from superdrug today ( on offer ) and my DD's had great fun 'getting mummy' along with a friend.
At one point I had three teens with wax strips on my legs counting 1, 2,3, and then all pulling at the same time. Oh god did it hurt:eek:
#Still it amused them for a while whilst they made me scream:p  :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: But i do have great legs now.
Mind you I ran when they suggested the bikini wax:eek:    :eek:0 -
ooh! thanks for the recipe. I am an avid home waxer (though the bikini line does suffer) and really resent spending £9 a pop on veet. My local bodycare sells bodymoods wax for £2.99 which gave me one of the best waxes i have ever had. However the stuff seems to get everywhere and unlike veet which rinses off pretty well, this stuff goes white and tacky in the water. A very sticky business.Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94

I equate waxing along the lines of going to the dentist for a filling...without painkillers.
Sorry but you can keep waxing, ill stick to my razorOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 126 :j

buy a braun epilator on amazon for £25 and pay nothing ever again. results are better than waxing as you can use it whenever you want, rather than waiting for all your hairs to grow through a little.0

If you live near a beauty/salon supply shop, you can buy the wax chips that salons use, and it works out much less expensive than buying it in Boots. I get mine from the Sally Beauty store in London (http://www.sallybeauty.com/mapquest_uk/inter_locator.asp) where you can also buy huge gallon bottles of designer shampoo for at a good discount!2015 comp wins - £370.25
Recent wins: gym class, baby stuff
Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -
I also use an epilator. Not as close as a razor, but far cheaper than waxing which I have always been less than impressed with.0
