I noticed threads stating that they have encountered the £1.25 charge through buying online and having it added .Not separately like a normal charge would appear from a bank but tacked onto a purchase.
Can everybody list what websites have attracted this charge. When paying through Rbs card, initialy through paypal then amazon did it.
I have £5 in charges so far and would like a heads up on the other sites that attract the extra fee.
Thank you.

Ebay
Amazon

Hi can you clarify a bit please?

What £1.25 charge is this? what method of payment are you using?

When I have used Amazon or eBay, I have not encountered a charge such as this.
Hoping this year is better than the last. :)

I have been bounced back between Rbs and paypal as they are certain they never charged me.
  • It is in the terms and conditions of many banks that issue you with a debit card to make a charge for transactions with companies that are domiciled abroad (including Jersey).
Credit cards do not incur these charges.

Jones, thank you for pointing out to me about the debit part..Does this mean that i will be charged for the likes of play.com and tesco jersey then?

Why is it added onto a payment and not listen clearly on its own from who is making the charge.
    Thank you

Yes but you can avoid it by paying with a credit card.

I've never been charged a fee for using any website in GBP in my hundreds of transactions using HSBC, Alliance and Leicester and Nationwide debit cards including loads of Jersey based ones.
