Quidco Warning

Please forgive me if I have placed this in the wrong place, this is the only forum I read
I first heard of Quidco via this forum and have since made MANY purchases via them, it apears I always get paid the tiny amounts but the large payments always end up with me raising queries and basically pleading for my cashback
My car insurance cashback is now outstanding since april 2009 and the Sky HD offer that hubby purchased in March 2009 has still not been paid
I am posting this here to re-iterate the MSE message that you should never count on any cashback, we are owed as a family nearly £200 which we were pinning our hopes on for christmas , I managed to deliver a baby in 9 months but Quidco can't deliver on their promises in that time.
Please Beware
Merry Xmas

Thought about changing your cashback site? I don't use them myself and highly recommend Topcashback as a alternative..At least they don't take anual fees off you.Your not the first to bring this up either.I haven't had any problems myself yet.0

The one thing you can rely on, payments are slow. I had one enquiry that took two years to be paid. As with all these cashback sites, one must just accept the money comes when the money comes....catch220

From Quidco's site:
Is cashback guaranteed?
We guarantee to give you 100% of the cashback that you earn, however we cannot guarantee that the retailer will pay us for every purchase. This only happens in a handful of cases - currently 99.86% of all purchases receive the cashback without issue.
Reasons why cashback might not be passed onto us by the retailer or merchant:- purchases which are subsequently returned, cancelled or an order amended
- purchases not completed wholly online
- purchases where another referrer has been awarded the cashback commission (e.g. a price comparison site)
- purchases where abuse or suspected abuse of Quidco's or the retailer's terms and conditions is in evidence
- purchases where a voucher code or gift code not authorised by Quidco has been used
- purchases from a retailer who ceases trading or goes into administration prior to the cashback being paid
- purchases where the terms and conditions of either Quidco or the retailer were not met
Generally, sticking to the terms and conditions provided in the retailer description and ensuring you follow the recommended process will minimise the risk of anything going wrong.
Sadly it would seem that cashback is not always paid but keep chasing them and you should get your money0 -
this happened to me a few months ago, where i was waiting 11 months for the larger payments. in the end i emailed them, and had a quick response.
it may be worth while checking your registered account to receive payment, as amounts over £50 at that time, required a bank account registered to it. as soon as i added that said account, my outstanding payment was paid within 48 hrsGive blood - its free0 -
I have so far earned just over £500 with quidco in this year, and all have been paid within a reaaonable time frame (as indicated on the oayment speed when you first click through).0

I have been burnt twice regarding large amounts - i.e. didn't receive money. Once by Quidco and once by Cashbackkings (M&S Insurance fiasco anyone ?). I would never base a large purchase (also utility/insurance decision) on the cashback as they are soooooo unreliable. I use it for lots of little amounts. Best way is to expect not to get paid.0

I once had a 2 year old query pay out.. i've never had a legitimate payment denied in 3 years of using it0

Thank you for your replies, some are re-assuring, some confirm my fears.
I have emailed Quidco every 4 weeks and pointed out they their last excuse is no longer a valid argument and they reply with a different excuse :rotfl:
eventually their excuse book will be all used up! and maybe , just maybe they will pay me....someone said it took them 2 years! I expect thats how they finance themselves , I just hope I am not at the end of the payout queue when they go bust! :snow_laug
I think I may try Topcashback, I keep hearing good things about them0 -
My experience with quidco concerning car insurance was that they paid out when the policy was 11 months old.
I asked and asked for it, because like you say, they pay out the small amounts quickly but after 6 months I still hadn't received my payment from Norwich Union for £70.
I guess this is to make sure you don't cancel the policy & go elsewhere to get cashback again.:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -
Thank you
So I may get my car insurance payout in another couple of months...just before it will be due for renewal....they are crafty, they quote 3 months but really mean nearly a year then! it would be better if they told the truth...anyway , if I do get it, it can go towards paying off the bills on all the money I have saved ,or maybe buy a lock-up to hide all the"cheap ,baragain & must-have" clothes that I have bought that my SO doesnt know about! :rotfl:
Does anyone have any experience with the Quidco pay out on SKY HD, my other half has been waiting for 10 months so far!
Thank you all so much, I didnt where else to turn to x0
