I registered with some agents

I expected to have to do a lot of phoning around as I only did the Rightmove auto email thing and checked about half a dozen of the 20 or so for the town I'm interested.

Now they keep phoning and emailing me!

Its like they think I'm a big sack of money and they all want to stick their hands into my aperture and pull out my delicious currency.

Anyway, I suppose the next step is viewings. I'm going to need a lot of emotional support, unconditional approval and nurturing to get me through this house buying process.

And my God if I cant get that on the Debate House Prices, The Economy & Recession board i dont know where I can.

So I'll be popping back regularly for hugs and spinning Martins.

Of course, you do know the one you'll like will be overpriced... and prices are about to plummet and you could snap it up for 50p if you just ... waaait.

Those hugs smileys look vaguely obscene on my pc. Maybe I need to fiddle with my graphics settings.

As long as it is only the graphics settings that you fiddle with....
All I seem to hear is blah blah blah!

    Try HPC.co.uk ;)

Seriously though, try and just do it the once in your lifetime if you can - oh, and you're best off assume that everything the Estate Agent tells you is bare-faced deception and lies. Get a solicitor near where you live so you can physically go in and kick their !!!! when they hold things up by operating at their usual speed of sloath.

Apart from all of that, best of luck.

    Oops, almost forgot - :money:

Contrary to popular myth, this 'fiddling' is best done with your keyboard and mouse, and not the joystick.

Interesting. When I registered with a few last year in Jan/Feb it was hard to get any of them to ring back or arrange veiwings etc. They were rushed off their feet and it really hard to get a viewing at weekends.

I will be registering again in late Jan so it will be interesting to see what it is like then.

    Are you proceedable?

You'll be much more attractive to them if they think you'll let them proceed.

I told them on enquiry that I would most certainly proceed and I wasnt too fussy about who with.

They like that sort of thing.

    Update

    Its approximately 10 past 4. 9th December, 2009.

I've just had a cup of tea. And a biscuit. Foregoing the urge to post on the thread complaining about public sector workers being lazy I have come back here to update my house buying journey.

More phone calls, more emails. Some of them go automatically into my spam folder. I am not used to checking this. Almost missed a chain free 3 bed that needs some work in a desirable location, because it was wedged inbetween Cialis Softlabs and an important missive about a refund the World Bank owes me.

There is talk of viewings, someplace needs a new bathroom but they'll take a 'good offer'. I dont know if I can make a good offer on that asking price, I say - will they take a measly offer? 'Yeah probably. I've massively overvalued it see' Says the agent (in so many words).

    Maybe on Saturday.

    Its all moving so fast.

    I need more hugs.

Yep had a reasonable size deposit and was ready to go. 1-2 agents seemed keen and rung now and a again but most seemd pretty dis interested and I had to ring a few times to get on their books. I think though that the market was flying by time I registered at the end of Jan/early Feb
