Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.:T

  • Evening all,

I am rather late starting this week's thread as I was out last night and have been rather zombiefied today due to lack of sleep.

I was green last week I am not sure exactly how much I spent but it was quite near £20. I am going for £20 again this week and due to many nights out last week I am going to try and stay in all week (it will also be good for my liver).

    Hello. can I join please?

I would like to pledge £20 for this week. I would like it to be less but I go for lunch once a week with a friend and its my turn this week to pay.

I spent far too much last week and need to watch every penny this month so this thread will be a good incentive to watch exactly what im spending ! for example, will I really need the new issue of easy living mag when I havent even read some of the mags I get on subscription.....

thanks pointy penguin for setting up the new thread and to moozie for the idea in the first place :j:D:j
  • Hi All

  • Good Morning Budgeteers!

Can I be put down for £10 this week please Pointy?

I've just set up my new current account and am waiting on internet purchases from the old account to clear, so my brain is fried at the moment and I have no idea where my money is at. Will take out a £10 note and then I know where it is!

Have a good week all xxxx

  • Hi Troop! sorry for the late check in, went to a gig last night :D

So the grand total of last week's spend was: £7.32

Since I've managed to spend under £10 for three weeks in a row, I am tempted to try out £10 this week, but I am worried about feeling too restricted any busting my budget....... I'm going to be a wimp and stick with my £15 please Pointy!

As ever, thank you for running the challenge :)
