Some advice - Baby related.

What I am wanting is some advice. I am a secondary school teacher who has a Y11 student with a child (5 months), this student has had to leave the care of her Guardian to live elsewhere - Guardian is not allowing the student to have access to any of her own things or the babies. We as a staff are pulling together and trying to help her with the practical side of things like clothing etc, whilst other agencies help with the rest of this mess this young girl finds herself in.
What I want to know is is there anywhere else I can look for cheap\free baby equipment\clothing for her little girl. We have got some clothes from ebay today for her, and we have looked on Freecycle - anywhere else we can look - this kid is desperate.
Thanks in advance of any responses.

Is she under 16 ( sorry not sure on the years) If so, she should have a social worker as both children deemed to be in need.
They will work with the family to ensure appropriate contact. Is there a social work liasion officer within the school? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Try placing a wanted on freecycle rather than just looking at whats offered, also have a look on your local gumtree, ebay as you already have (for bigger items try searching for what is closest to you so that you can collect) surestart which has already been mentioned.
Social services may be able to help also not only with things she needs for the baby but possibly getting her things back also.
Good luck0 -

Lynz year 11 would be 15/16 i would have thought even at 16 with a young child and still being at school they would be able to help wouldnt they?0 -

Hi all
Thanks for the quick responses - yes there is other agencies social services involved, etc. We are just wanting to make the interim period while the dust settles a bit more comfortable for her and her daughter, she literally left with the clothes on both of their backs
From a safeguarding point of view all relevant agencies are working with the child on getting the items back as well as all the other issues, but who know how long that could take.
MoonRose77 have Pm'd back
